My son has been taking drum lessons with Mark Cappellini at Cap’s Drum Studio since 2015. Mark’s mentoring, expertise, and outstanding skills as a percussionist has inspired my son to push himself continuously to improve all while thoroughly enjoying the process. There is never a time where my son was not excited to go to his lessons. Even after seven years of lessons, Mark was still showing him new tricks of the trade and refining his skills in soloing, improvisation, and interacting with other musicians. Mark’s mentoring has led my son to too many accolades to list, including but not limited to, 5x WVU Honors Jazz Band, 4x all-state orchestra, 3x all-state band, multiple paid drumming gigs, several performances at the state capital, recording drum tracks for records, writing all the music for a cartoon, and now playing in two local bands. Ultimately, my son received a college scholarship to continue to pursue his music career, and he wants to be a performer but also a music educator (just like his mentor). Most importantly, the best gifts my son received from Mark Cappellini and Cap’s Drum Studio is a positive role model, a lifelong drive to improve, a love for music, and a friendship that will guide him through his musical journey. If you look at the top middle and high school percussionists in the state of West Virginia, almost all of them are from Morgantown and have started their journey to greatness in Cap’s Drum Studio. Please send your son or daughter to Cap’s Drum Studio for percussion lessons, so they can have a similar experience as my son. It was a great investment and one that continues to impact my son’s life positively.
Mark's record speaks for itself. As a professional musician and band director, I highly recommend his studio to all levels of percussionist. Mark's students all excel (All State, First Chair placement, center snare drummers etc.) . They learn to become percussionist and not just drummers. Mark is the BEST percussion teacher in the area. Do yourself a favor and get your son/daughter in private lessons with Mr. Cappellini. With his guidance and their diligent practice, the sky is the limit. Highly RECOMMENED!!!
Mark Cappellini is very dedicated to the world of music. His school bands were excellent (37 years worth). Many of his students have been successful. For people interested in learning percussion, Mark is definitely the best teacher in Morgantown. His process is not only about drums and percussion. Most importantly it's about performing music.
Mark Cappellini introduced my son to drums and music. He took drum lessons with Mark for many years and loved it! He also made state honor band multiple years and had many wonderful band and music related experiences. We think the world of Cap!
Mr. Cappellini is easily the best percussion teacher throughout West Virginia and southern Pennsylvania. If you have a son or daughter that is interested in drum lessons, this is the studio to go to! The rates are reasonable and his service is top notch.
