This place was a wedding dream come true. It was the first and only wedding venue we looked at - we knew right away with the captivating views and charming manor that we wanted our special day to be here. From day one the Rixey staff were welcoming and helpful with every request and question we had. We were supported through every step of the planning process which made for a very stress free day as everything fell nicely into place. Rixey felt like home away from home for us and our guest that were able to stay with us for our wedding weekend on the property. Getting married here was unforgettable and Rixey Manor will forever have a special place in our heart!
Rixey Manor was our dream venue. It has the perfect blend of rustic and classy, and offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces (a must for our unpredictable March day!) It was the first and only venue I toured, and after one conversation with Isadora, I knew she had to be part of our big day. While she is a coordinator, not a planner, she was so involved and helpful throughout our planning process. She gave us a list of vendors (helped me find my venue AND dream dress in one day!), gave us practical advice on what would work and what wouldn't, but always encouraged my vision over all. We had 120 guests and a full band and the indoor reception space was perfect. I cannot overemphasize how gorgeously photogenic every single corner of this place is. (Have I mentioned the bathtubs? Because I sent pictures of the bathtubs to everyone I know) Our guests gushed over the thoughtfulness of the hot chocolate provided before our outdoor March ceremony, and it was details like that that made Rixey the perfect place for us. It's only an hour from DC or Charlottesville, which made it convenient for out of town guests (over half our crowd). AND our entire wedding party stayed overnight, which made the rehearsal dinner and wedding morning so relaxing. Isadora will be your biggest advocate as a bride. The views from Rixey will make your pictures timeless and stunning. If you're on the fence, look no further, you've found your venue!
The best venue anyone could ask for! Isadora and her team (Grace, Adam, and all the rest of the crew) demonstrated not only the highest levels of professionalism and talent, they were also so welcoming, easy-going, and fun. We were sold when we first laid eyes on the venue itself, but after meeting with Isadora, this team deserves to be in the pantheon of the all-time greatest wedding vendors. The Rixey team knocked it out of the park during our wedding weekend AND they were crucial resources throughout our planning process. From their excellent organization skills to their bridal bootcamp events, this team helped us to feel so confident and secure going into our wedding. Our wedding party also loved staying at the manor, and it's all thanks to Rixey's amazing team. We cannot recommend them enough!
My wife and I recently had our wedding at the Rixey Manor and it was so lovely. It's a beautiful farm house from 1801 and secluded in the countryside, perfect for a quiet outdoor wedding. It is very dog friendly and we brought our dogs with us every time we went. The Manor also offers different options on ceremony and reception locations. It was convenient being able to stay at the Manor and we stayed in the guest cabin for the entire weekend. Quaid is very knowledgeable about the venue and experienced with weddings. He was accommodating and attentive in coordinating our wedding. Our only complaint was with the preferred vendors Rixey Manor recommended which didn't work out and we found our own. This isn't a negative remark on the Rixey Manor but just something to bear in mind while planning. Overall it was a beautiful wedding and we are very happy we experienced it at the Rixey Manor.
A wonderfully refreshing wedding venue without the rigidity of others in Virginia. Beautiful, yet charming and with a cozy feel. This was my first review as we were planning our special event. Update: Our wedding (daughter / son-in-law) was the most amazing and special event, that went well beyond our dreams and visions. Isadora and Ben did a phenomenal job at making sure the couple's visions came to fruition...offering their expertise and support every step of the way. From vendors to timelines to orchestrating the schedule to fixes for the last minute glitches, they are absolutely amazing. Rixey is charmingly unique, down to earth, and we had the most wonderful wedding experience here.
