I searched for Jamaican restaurant to get the authentic flavors cooked properly. Not weakened to appease one type of taste. Not over spiced to appease the preference of chef. Ocean Blue hit the mark. The flavors of Scotch Bonnet Peppers, Thyme, and All Spice were present. The presentation was well done. Try the Brown Stew Chicken; Curried Goat; Ox-Tails. I did not try the Snapper but saw someone else eating. It looked delicious. Another patron had the Ackee and Salt Fish and she was amazed. The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s a small staff so please don’t be impatient. They make a great drinks as well. Try the Mango Pineapple Ginger. You will enjoy the food.
I had to go back to this restaurant and celebrate my birthday because I remembered how good the food was. The staff is so friendly and the Chef brings the food out to you. This is a fine-dining experience in a vacation setting. This is like being on an island vacation. They brought out a complimentary slice of sweet potato pie.
My family and I were visiting the Phoenix area for the weekend and we wanted Jamaican food. A search online lead to Ocean Blue but it was closing in an hour. We rushed there anyways and ordered jerk chicken and curry goat combo for take out. However serval of the sides were sold out and we totally understood since it was almost closing time. No worries - we were happy to get different sides. Then, the chef brought our food and said in the kindest tone and apologized that he ran out of sides. My husband reiterated that it was totally fine because we came too late. The chef thanked us for our understanding and said he had already prepared two full orders of jerk chicken and curry goat for us instead of the one combo plate! He also added in a curry chicken we didn’t order! OMG what an amazing and generous host! We felt like he treated us like family who had come to his home for a meal. That wasn’t it, when we ate our food back at the hotel, we were blown away by how good it was. Totally reminded us of the food we had when we vacationed in Jamaica. The food was so good that my husband begged me freeze the leftover jerk chicken to take it back to CA the next day. Lol Thank you Chef for being such a gracious host and you have a fantastic talent for cooking delicious food! We will definitely visit again when we come back to AZ.
Review: I recently dined at Ocean Blue Caribbean Restaurant and Bar, and I must say, the food here is absolutely delicious! It's definitely worth the wait. During my visit, I ordered the shrimp curry, jerk chicken, white rice, and cabbage, and let me tell you, everything at Ocean Blue is seasoned to perfection. If you're someone who loves bold and flavorful dishes, this is definitely the place for you. However, there is one thing I feel could be improved upon. The customer service provided by the employees at Ocean Blue could be more attentive and personalized. It would be great if the staff were more aware of providing the best customer service to each individual. Mastering this aspect would truly elevate the overall dining experience at Ocean Blue Caribbean Restaurant and Bar. That being said, I highly recommend trying their refreshers. Ocean Blue offers a wide selection of refreshing beverages that perfectly complement the vibrant flavors of their dishes. The refreshers are simply delightful and deserve a perfect score of 10/10. Overall, despite the minor suggestion for improvement in customer service, Ocean Blue Caribbean Restaurant and Bar is still worth visiting for its delicious food and incredible flavors. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the authentic taste of the Caribbean at Ocean Blue!
Great little spot with some surprisingly delicious and authentic Caribbean dishes seamed mostly like Jamaican influenced but very delicious none the less!
