I have been sending my one dog here for over a year and just got a new puppy who now attends. My puppy has attended puppy class and we were able to get a great teacher. He also attended the puppy camp and was able to receive 1-on-1 training that helped so much. Both my dogs get so excited to go to daycare and they are taken care of by the staff so well. I have recommended Hydeout to a friend and I think they would agree that it's a great place to send your dog(s)!
I signed my puppy up online in February for class starting in April. I never heard anything or got an Email so in March I called the facility and re did the application as nobody had heard of me or my dog. After this I was contacted by the manager who assured me she would put me on the class list and sign me up. Fast forward to end of April when I go to the class based off the time and date the manager had told me. When I showed up the boy running the class was extremely rude telling me I was already late, wasn’t on the class list, couldn’t get a hold of his manager and to “try again next week”. Even after I showed him the messages between me and the manager. Sadly enough the manager never reached out to me after 3 months of trying to get my puppy enrolled and being assured that he was. I then went to fella and fetch and would never look back. Hydeout is unprofessional and did not live up to the expectations they set. In the end it is all about the animal and the structure and obedience they need. To see my puppy visibly upset as I had to drag him out from class was heartbreaking. Apparently Hydeout could care less.
Our 2 dogs (almost 2 years and 7 years) had been attending daycare at the Hydeout Dog Daycare for almost 6 months. One day I went to go pick them up from daycare and when the staff member brought them out, I noticed that my younger dogs head was all bloody. The staff member told me that he was attacked by five other dogs earlier in the day, around 11am. I asked why no one had either called my husband or I to let us know about this. She said they wanted to review the video footage of the incident before contacting us. I took the dogs home, as the manager/owner wasn't there to speak to. I emailed the owner, as I wanted documentation of the incident in writing. Her response contained no remorse or apologies for not contacting us sooner, and evidently they couldn't 'log in' to the video footage to see what actually happened. If my dog was causing issues or concerns during his time at daycare, we were never informed about it, in order to correct his actions. I fully understand how a dog fight could upset the dogs and the staff, but I wanted to understand why if the fight happened at 11am and we weren't informed of the incident until I picked up the dogs around 5:30pm. I emailed her several times asking for a refund and additional information about the incident, with no response. We weren't comfortable taking the dogs there anymore, especially when they didn't show any accountability for their inaction to the situation. My younger dog did require a vet visit to clean out his wounds. I ended up having to contact PayPal and open up a dispute to obtain a refund for my services, which was found in my favour, as they didn't respond to PayPal either. I do not recommend using this daycare for your beloved pets, as this incident could happen to anyone - being surprised with a dog that had blood all over his head upon pickup is never something a business let happen.
I take my two dogs here and the staff is absolutely amazing with them! Plus it’s great that they post daily photos of them so I can see how much fun they have. My one dog has the tendency to be a little aggressive and they are really good at correcting him and because of them he is a lot better with dogs around. 10/10 recommend :)
We bought a few private lessons from Ashley with our black lab/Great Pyrenees rescue. He had problems with other dogs on leashes and we couldn’t calm him down. Ashley really helped us progress with our pup. It seems like common sense now but how she laid out all our homework and gave us different tips on how to handle our pups behavior made training him easy. She helped improve our confidence as well which helped calm the dog down and in our last lesson she invited us to a park to run drills with her very well trained pup. She’s really busy and booked up for a long time so scheduling was a bit of a challenge. But she’s pretty accommodating.
