The food was so good and our waitress was very helpful in helping me choose what to order. My husband got the Couscous, and it was really good! One of our boys got goat pepper soup, and the other got peanut butter soup. Both of them loved it! Goat pepper soup was a little spicy but really flavorful! I got the jerk chicken with rice per the waitresses suggestion, and I absolutely loved it! So, so good! That was a treat for my birthday, and I will definitely be back! Price is very reasonable as well!
Kontiki is an amazing restaurant! My husband and I got married on the 1st of January and we really wanted to cater to both of our cultures. It helped that Kontiki has some amazing dishes that all of our friends loved. We had catered Oxtails, Beef Stew, and Jollof Rice!! When I say the food was fresh and piping hot!! The owners accommodated us where they would have normally been closed! To say I’m satisfied is a lie because we were Overly Satisfied!! Thank you guys for making our day special and being professional! With love -The Kabore’s
Ordered jerk chicken, jollof rice and vegetables. The vegetables were clearly frozen and microwaved. No flavor. The rice was okay. The jerk chicken didn’t taste fresh and kind of tough. I tried the peanut butter stew. The chicken was very bland with no seasoning. Not a great experience especially for the price.
11/10 IF YOU HAVEN'T EATEN HERE DO IT TODAY!! I am so happy I decide to go ahead and finally try African food for the first time. I promise you I was not let down at all. It was absolutely delicious and I was able to try dishes I'd never had before. Great atmosphere inside and as a plus they also have a small area with some international grocery selections. Be expected to spend a little more than you probably normally would ($15-20 person) but you wont get rich and flavorful food like this anywhere else & besides you're supporting a small business!
Went with a group of 4 on a Sunday evening, wasn't very crowded. The menu is small with some daily specials listed on a board inside. We tried the lamb pepper soup, meat skewers, fried plantains, and rice akara for appetizers. For mains we ordered the peanut butter soup, ox tail stew, fufu with okra, and jollof rice with beef stew. The akara and plantains were good, but the meat skewers and pepper soup were amazing. The pepper soup is very spicy, but really well seasoned. All of the mains were really well prepared and full of west African spice. The okra tasted good, but I'm just not a fan of the texture of stewed okra (a bit slipperly/slimy). The atmosphere was really relaxed and comfortable, the service was friendly, and generally a fun place to eat. Try the ginger beer if you really like ginger, it was def stronger than ginger beer I've bought from kroger. Will definitely come back
