My husband and I were on vacation in Mineral, VA, and every restaurant we tried was either the same or terrible. Then we discovered this wonderful small spot! The sausage rolls, both regular and spicy, were fantastic and complemented the coffee and ice cream perfectly. We went again and got to try both. They had this delicious dark chocolate ice cream. Most restaurants do not sell dark chocolate ice cream, so this was a pleasant surprise! My husband had a waffle cone with dark chocolate ice cream, while I had a milkshake. There is absolutely nothing to complain about, they tasted amazing. The owner was genuinely kind and remembered us the following day. We miss this spot almost as much as we miss the lake where we were staying. We can't wait to go again in the future. We highly recommend making a stop here!
Should I have slowed down to snap a photo? Probably. But the buttery, savory smell of the spicy Aussie sausage roll was so enticing I could not be bothered. The flaky pastry was so perfect and subtle with the spicy (I asked for the spicy! They have a mild) sausage filling. It was warm and the absolute perfect lunch. I also opted for their PSL which is a good standard for this time of year. I find the coffee flavor itself very enjoyable and not acidic and citric in nature as is common to find these days. It’s very pleasant to sip on. The guy who I’m guessing is the owner was very friendly and talkative. I certainly will be back and taking my husband next time!!
UPDATE 2/27/23: They now have ice cream available at the first window! Continue to the second window for coffee etc.. We live nearby and can't resist grabbing a quick latte and sausage roll in the morning. This place is newly contructed, it has a very nice covered patio area with picnic tables. The owners and employees are very kind, they take extra care in making all their pastries and desserts from scratch. The smoothies are excellent, and they don't take long to make at all. We will continue to stop here and can't wait for the warmer weather to come around so we can start getting ice cream as well!
This was the perfect surprise along our way to the mountains! Had an awesome time talking to the owner about the beautiful Australia! And the spicy Aussie sausage roll and coffee drinks were phenomenal!! Wish I lived closer!
Super excited to finally try our local drive thru coffee (and ice cream) shop! It was the perfect place to meet for a long overdue friends' breakfast. Our drinks & food were fantastic. Everyone there was super friendly. We probably could have hung out all day, with the perfect outdoor setting. Can't wait to go back & try more.
