Visiting Mines View Observation Deck is a must for anyone traveling to Baguio. The breathtaking views and the opportunity to engage with the local culture are definite highlights. However, the crowds and pushy vendors can be a downside, so it's best to go early in the day to enjoy a more peaceful experience. Pros: Scenic Views: The main highlight of Mines View Observation Deck is, of course, the stunning panoramic view of the mining town of Itogon and the surrounding Cordillera mountains. The sight of the mining town nestled amidst the mountains is truly captivating and provides ample photo opportunities. Cultural Experience: Mines View is a great place to immerse yourself in the local culture. You can rent traditional Cordillera attire and have your photos taken in them, which adds a unique cultural dimension to your visit. Souvenir Shopping: The adjacent souvenir shops offer a wide variety of locally made handicrafts, jewelry, and other souvenirs. It's a good place to pick up gifts or keepsakes to remember your trip by. Food Options: There are stalls selling local snacks and refreshments, allowing you to enjoy some refreshments while taking in the view. Cons: Crowded and Commercialized: Mines View Observation Deck can get extremely crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. The commercialization of the area can sometimes detract from the natural beauty of the place. Pushy Vendors: While the souvenir shops offer a diverse range of products, some vendors can be quite persistent and pushy, which can be off-putting for visitors who prefer a more relaxed shopping experience. Limited Parking: Finding parking nearby can be a challenge, especially during busy times, which can be frustrating for those traveling by car. Limited Amenities: The observation deck lacks modern amenities, such as restroom facilities, so visitors should plan accordingly.

A classic Baguio tourist spot. It is a reminder of Benguet as a mining town. Parking can be challenging especially on the weekends. You only have to pay a minimal environmental fee to enter, which was 10 pesos as of July 2023. There’s a lot of food stalls and souvenir shops in the area. If you fancy riding a pink horse, you may do that here too.

While the Mines View Park has beautiful scenery of mountains and nature, it also overlooks Itogon's abandoned mines, also known as the Balatoc Mines. Mines outlook Park's observation platform has become a favorite spot for taking shots of Baguio's surroundings due to its spectacular views.

I find this place overrated, the view of the countryside from the observation deck is nice but not spectacular and that's it. The rest are souvenirs, strawberries, flowers, local garments and jewelry, and standard food offerings. It was crowded, so the experience was less enjoyable.

One of the famous tourist spots across Baguio pack with shops selling snacks, trinkets, botanical items, and others. Picture taking services with traditional Igorot clothes, horses, dogs and more are also available towards the lower half of the park. While in the edge of the Mines View Park lies a scenic view of mountains and forest, it also overlooked Itogon’s abandoned mines which are also known as Balatoc Mines.
