Saw this place pop up on my Instagram and decided to pull the trigger on trying it after seeing their Mac-n-cheese! I really wanted the wings but they were sold out so I went with tenders instead. They don't have a storefront for sit down or dine in yet, just pick up and delivery options which is fine, especially since you know, COVID lol. Ordering online was super easy, and you get a lot for your money. However they season this lemon pepper chicken is EXACTLY WHAT IM LOOKING FOR. It's so flavorful. I can't wait to actually get an order of wings next time. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. Mac n cheese was good too. I'm picky about Mac's and like to see some pepper in mine, and always add hot sauce, but this was good on its own. Had I not been impatient and waited to warm it up at home, it would have been even better! Would have been a forkful of gooey goodness. Will definitely be back to try all of the wings!! Support local small businesses. If you're looking for some soul food close to downtown/Sherman heights, you won't be disappointed!
I'm gonna be honest I was very skeptical about ordering when I pulled up and found it was a house and a physical business building. I am not a local and was looking for some good soul food. The reviews were very helpful in my decision to place an order. When I tell you our food was sooo delicious and well seasoned it really was!!! The yams were the perfect amount of sweet and tender. My kids had the tenders and my daughter who is a worse food critic than me said her Lemon Pepper tenders were really good and plentiful. The Mac and cheese was creamy, cheese and really good. The greens were perfectly seasoned and had the right about of spice. I really enjoyed my wings. Thanks for the hot sauce which topped it all off. Wish I lived here cause I would be back. But this was my last meal before I leave town.
Fantastic! Just perfect. I randomly was looking on my gps for something to eat that was different and saw this place. I love the simple menu choices. The lemon pepper & regular chicken was great! Collard greens, rice and beans, mac cheese and cornbread delicious!! And the last best thing is the banana pudding..hellllooooooo! Yum. Note that this business is out from a cute little house in barrio logan area. We placed order ahead of time (awesome online ordering app and text communication response in timely matter). They come outside to hand deliver it in person. Friendly gentlemen! I think it was the owner, not sure. Highly recommended for great soul food and of course we support local businesses. I approve this place! A+
This soul food was sooo delicious! Everything was so good! I been struggling trying to find a soul food that taste as good as the south an I definitely found it !! I would give it 10 stars if I could ! My favorite lemon pepper chicken tenders now , Definitely will come back for more!
Was a little put off when I found out that it was out of someone's home but I went through and ordered it anyway and boy am I glad. This food is the real deal Soul Food. Mac and Cheese was on point and collard greens were seasoned to perfection. The Chicken had to be cooked by our ancestors because it was that good. I have found my new soul food spot. Great job!!
