Really diverse selection of offerings at reasonable prices and good condition, a very nicely curated place; probably had the most successful record hunting excursion of late. Parking is a little tough but might be because it's a Saturday--the general area is busy. We parked near the CVS and walked over, but park at your own risk. We spent $24 on 5 vinyls, so we're pretty happy with our experience. Sidebar, just a reminder to be fair to small businesses when you rate them, specifically regarding the things they can and can't control. A one-star review you took 10 seconds to write because your day was slightly inconvenienced isn't fair.
Extremely small, cramped and dark store with very little stock and stuff sitting in the walkway. It was not very inviting and although there were 5 customers in the store, the staffer that finally showed up 15 minutes into my visit from somewhere in the back room spoke to only one. Small businesses usually get my vote for being welcoming and interested in making a sale. This one does not.
Andy Phillips at Wax Atlas is attempting to sell a guitar amp on Facebook Marketplace and in the Wax Atlas shop. He is calling the amp a "Fender '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue 15-Watt 1x10" Guitar Combo". It is not a Princeton Reverb...it's not a '65...it's not a reissue...it's not 15 watts...and it doesn't have a 10 inch speaker. He is attempting to sell a Fender Princeton 65 DSP under the guise that it is a Princeton Reverb. The amp he is selling is worth under $200 and an actual Princeton Reverb is worth $800-$1200 used. He has been informed that he is listing it as a completely different amp but he will not change the listing and he is attempting to scam people by deceiving people about the actual model. I gave him the benefit of the doubt of mistaking it (even though he has the manual and it clearly states what it is on the amp) but after messaging him, he refuses to change the listing. That's fraud and he knows it. Update: After I wrote this review, Andy Phillips used three of his Facebook pages (Andy Phillips, Andy Atlas, and the Wax Atlas page) to ask all of his followers about who I am and to help in coming after me. I tried to help him correct his misleading ad and when he refused to change it (while fully knowing it was wrong), I left this review to warn others about his unethical business practices and out of right scam. Because of me simply leaving this review, he reached out to everyone he knows to retaliate against me in a threatening way. It is so irresponsible and disgusting that if you call out Andy Phillips and Wax Atlas for his behavior that he will do everything he can to come after you. I am not the only one who has noticed his scamming and shady business practices. Here is a review on his Andy Atlas account (he uses it to sell Wax Atlas products on Marketplace): "The seller took my money, then sold the item to another buyer and didn’t tell me. When I drove 50 miles to pick it up at a pre-arranged time, the item was nowhere to be found. Instead of acknowledging what happened, they pretended the item was lost. The seller ultimately agreed to give me a refund and a store credit — but more than a month later, neither has been received, and the seller is unresponsive. This seller stole my money and wasted my time. Don’t let it happen to you. ・Andy was very late. ・Andy took too long to respond. ・The item did not match the description or pictures." Please beware of Andy Phillips, the owner of Wax Atlas.
Well, one star only because despite an alleged confirmation of Sunday hours by Google, they are actually closed on Sunday.
Excellent prices, the owner described the shop as a vinyl thrift shop, don't expect mint gems, do expect well loved records!
