Dr Ballard is the reason I no longer fear the dentist. I used to have panic attacks about going but she is so gentle, kind, and reassuring that i actually look forward to seeing her. Excellent work and much less painful than other dentists.
Looking for a new dentist and decided to stop by this office to see if she takes my insurance and what appointment availability looked like. Had to pay to park, which is ok. Walked up to the office and saw face mask is required to enter. Also fine, so went back to my car to grab one. This was around 3:45pm, and I get back to the door and try to open it. It's locked, so I knocked. After a little I heard someone ask who is it. When I said my name, the person yelled we're closed. Maybe they closed early that day? That's fine, so I started walking away, but then heard the door unlock and open. Out popped a head which I'm guessing belonged to Madelyn. I asked her what were her hours. She kept asking me what? as if I was speaking a foreign language. After about the fourth time of asking what her hours were, she only replied "you need to call". I need to call to find out the hours? No telling me they closed early today, no asking me what i needed, none of that. Very off putting encounter but ok whatever, so I decide to call. No one answers and then the voicemail said they're open until 5pm. I look at my watch and it wasn't even 4pm yet. Needless to say, I'll be going somewhere else. Lots of good reviews, but had to share my experience cause it was soo bizarre and not a good first impression.
Dr. Ballard has been our family dentist for almost 20yrs. She is the best in the Bay Area. I recommend her to anyone looking for a new dentist. She is caring to your concerns, listens, remembers and is very personable. She is also located close to freeways, 24, 13 and 80
I went for a cleaning as a first time patient and had a pleasant experience with Dr. Ballard. She is professional and well humoured, and corrected my bad brushing and flossing habits to avoid further gum recession. Her receptionist was also very polite and courteous. I look forward to going back in 6 months for my routine cleaning. I was able to get an appointment within a week of calling rather than waiting months out as is the case with other places that accept Dentical insurance. I also like that it's a small private office with a very short wait. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing basic dental services.
Dr. Ballard is a wonderful, sweet, no frills dentist who I just recently transferred my dental care to. I went in for a Saturday appointment (woohoo!) and she greeted me herself, did the cleaning, and had me out the door within a half hour. She was gentle during the cleaning, incredibly kind, and for someone who doesn't love the dentist, (I mean, who does?), I had about the best possible experience. I would absolutely recommend her and I look forward to seeing her again.
