I came in for a pedicure and tech used a drill to file down my cuticles after she removed my polish. You should never use a drill on raw nails or cuticles. I had to ask her to stop, she then tried to use the cuticle cutter on the soles of my feet, without scrubbing my feet. I felt like I had to explain how a pedicure should work. Another technician saw I was annoyed and switch places. She was better, but the polish was not very neat. Lastly I hate the atmosphere. It just not very relaxing and there was alot of talking.
The salon staff are polite and friendly. They do a good job with both pedicures and manicures. The main plus is the stations are clean and they will not scrape the bottom of feet unless you consent- just buff out which is safer for diabetics, elderly, or people with thin or sensitive skin. Their selection of polishes is pretty varied but I have found that if I want a different or special color and it is a brand they use they are happy to use it. They do ask if you want the spa treatment or additional services but as long as you are clear they will for go it and not charge extra. The music is pleasant enough but since that is individual I usually tune it out. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi is none existent and my i phone gets 1 bar so I bring a book or a couple magazines. They are very accommodating on weekends. Only time I have had a problem scheduling has been trying to get an appointment or walk in after 5:30 on a weekday. I guess the staff stay late some days but it isn’t clear.
Fabulous salon. Classy. The staff are welcoming and polite. Genuine. They do good work. Very clean and tastefully decorated too. Aesthetically-pleasing surroundings affect my mood. And none of that depressing standard nail salon music. Jazz is on instead. Always a pleasant experience there.
I arrived at the Nail a la Mode store shortly before 6pm on a Thursday the receptionist said we are closed. Their website indicates the store closes at 8pm today. I explained I just need a cuticle clean, no polish on my hands. They were not able to accommodate me. This is not the first time that Nail a la Mode have shown discrimination towards me. They discriminate against their own kind. If I do not look Caucasian or seem to not have a lot of money the store associates deny service
Came here for a simple pedicure, was asked twice if I wanted to upgrade to a spa pedicure, clearly said "no", twice. Since I paid in advance, I tipped the technician and left. Was called on the phone to come back and pay the additional $15! Needless to say, not returning here again.
