I recently relocated to the area and discovered this đź’Ž was close to home. It was refreshing to hear the stylist teaching their clients about ongoing hair care techniques for healthy hair. I appreciate the hair care products that were available at the salon as well as the attentive service they provided.
I loved the peaceful and friendly atmosphere of the shop. The decorations and merch are too cute as well! I'm so thankful for the steam that comes with a wash because it rehydrated my hair that turned to straw after being in 117°F Vegas weather!
The wash and scalp massage were both very nice! Unfortunately the cornrows I got were not parted correctly down the middle, so now I have an uneven middle part and a large lopsided center braid when I only have six braids. I might have to take it out way earlier than expected because of the unevenness. I wouldn’t recommended coming here if you’re looking for a natural cornrow style to wear out. On the other hand, the products used left my hair feeling very nice and the braids themselves are clean, so maybe you’ll find more success getting a style from here without a middle part…hopefully if I decide to come again for a different style I get better results.
Charlene is my favorite! I haven’t tried the other ladies (although I always admire from the next chair over), but Charlene is punctual, honest & consistent. The first time I came in I was pretty scared to do the big cut I needed so Charlene trimmed it but still gave me a free mini-consult on what I should be doing for my curls. The next time, I got balls & cut it! At first I was scared because I didn’t want to do (another) big chop, but she kept all the length she could & because of her magic fingers, the cut wasn’t as short as I thought it would be. Consistent visits a year later & I’m a client for life;) It’s also important to note the timeliness again because, well, this is a Black salon that keeps on schedule with appointments, accurately gauges the time needed & (mostly) takes care of one client at a time. All the Naturals should give them a try!
This was actually the best hair cut I’ve ever received. I am finally getting close to the shape I want. I was in and out in 30 minutes! I’m usually in the salon for a minimum of 4 hours. Sometimes up to 7 or 8. We cut down the time so much by not walking my hair, but I came in clean and my hair looked great, so it wasn’t necessary. I was grateful I could leave a tip on my credit card and they seemed encouraged! The receptionist and my stylist were so friendly. It was cute inside. Only downsides are it’s a little hard to park and there is construction at the front door right now.
