Tried several items on different occasions. Very pretty cakes but found that the cake base actually tastes the same whether coconut, lemon or even the German Chocolate -- only the icings/toppings gave the supposed flavor. I was most disappointed in the Triple Lemon ... beautiful cake just no flavor to the actual cake. The bread pudding was your 4star for me. I'll try again in the future and hope for a more flavorful experience. Keeping it real because I want to support your business!
Great local bakery for Vallejo. Friendly staff in a bright and clean setting with delicious pies & baked goods. Coffee for dining in and special orders to go. Exceptional banana pudding.
Everything I got was very tasty. They are one of the few places around here that sell teacakes, so I bought some for my mother and she loved them. She is from the south so this is something she grew up on. The cake is very tasty and moist it is really good cake that they use. The eclair pastry cream was above average much better than most of the eclairs I have had. It was not too sweet and very rich. The only thing that I didn't particularly care r e for their frosting was a little too sweet for me and had a little bitter aftertaste but I just removed it and ate the cake and feeling saved me some calories and enjoyed a really good piece of cake. I will definitely visit again.
To whom it may concern, I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the recent experience I had at Hummingbird Bakery. I purchased a cake from them this morning for my daughter's birthday, and to my shock and dismay, I discovered that the cake was frozen. I had no idea that the cake was frozen until I attempted to cut into it. The texture was incredibly hard, making it a struggle to even make a dent. It felt more like cutting into an ice cream cake than a regular cake. Despite my confusion, I persisted and finally managed to cut a few slices. However, to my horror, the cake came out completely frozen, as if it had just been taken out of the freezer. I cannot express how disappointed I am in Hummingbird Bakery for selling me a frozen cake and attempting to pass it off as "cold storage." As a customer, I expect freshness and quality when purchasing a cake, especially for a special occasion like my daughter's birthday. This incident not only ruined the surprise and joy of the celebration but also left me questioning the bakery's integrity and commitment to delivering exceptional products. I feel compelled to warn others to exercise caution when considering purchasing cakes from Hummingbird Bakery. It is unacceptable to sell frozen cakes under the guise of "cold storage." Customers deserve transparency and honesty, and this experience has left me feeling deceived and disheartened. I sincerely hope that Hummingbird Bakery takes this feedback seriously and takes immediate steps to rectify this issue. Customers should not have to worry about receiving frozen cakes when purchasing from a reputable bakery. I urge the bakery to thoroughly review their processes and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. In conclusion, I implore potential customers to be aware and cautious when buying cakes from Hummingbird Bakery. Don't make the same mistake I did by assuming that their cakes are always fresh. It is my hope that by sharing my experience, others can make informed decisions and avoid the disappointment and frustration that I have faced. Yours sincerely, A deeply dissatisfied customer
Hey I have been coming here for about 6 years now. You desserts are great but my last purchase yesterday I have noticed that you have significantly decreased size and increased the prices. I understand inflation but also expect the same portion size.
