I hadn't had a haircut in over a year (due to some trauma from my last cut that went very wrong) and was very anxious, but everyone on my work team said Dontay is the best, so I decided to give him a try. First of all, I accidentally mixed up the days and showed up to my appointment a week early. Dontay kindly informed me of my error, but told me he had a last minute cancellation and could work me in on the spot! He quite literally dropped what he was doing to accomodate me. The amazing cut and style he acheived were exactly what I asked for and I can't say enough great things about the experience. Dontay lives up to all the hype and I will definitely be going back soon!
Dontay is amazing!! He gave me a haircut (that was already great) and then we ran into each other in the micro-kitchen, where he definitively announced that he could do better. I didn't believe him, but was very happy to see Dontay again so agreed to see him try. He gave me an INCREDIBLE haircut that I've been getting tons of compliments about ever since and he did it for FREE. Absolutely wonderful human being and artist. Thanks so much Dontay!!
I had the chance to meet Dontay while I was staying in Mountain View for an event. He was able to identify some of the best cuts and treatments for my hair type. I have dense, wavy-curly hair that frizzes easily. To be honest, caring for my own hair can be overwhelming to the point where I'll put it in a ponytail and ignore it. I left with not only a great haircut, but also a deeper understanding of how to approach my own hair care. He answered my questions with patience and kindness, as well as illuminating some best practices. I would highly recommend Dontay. He is a true professional who takes the time to understand your hair type and needs. I can't wait to go back and see him again!
Dontay did an excellent job on my hair. I was greeting immediately upon arrival was seated quickly. The salon is clean, classy and bright. I told Dontay that I usually get a standard clipper cut - 7 on top, 4 or 5 on the sides. He recommended more of a hybrid cut (scissors + clippers) and walked through how he felt my hair should be cut and styled, based on my personal style and hair texture. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. My hair looks way better than I anticipated. I highly recommend Dontay for your next cut!
Great experience! Heard my requirements and got started without further ado, easygoing conversation throughout the entire session, great results at the end, and answered questions about how to maintain the hairstyle even after the session. Dontay has found his unique niche and excels in it. One feedback: after the haircut I had small bits of cut hair all over my face, which would've really sucked for me if it got into my eyes and just isn't a great look in general. Perhaps a facial covering during parts of the cut would help!
