This is actually my first time trying Ethiopian food and I enjoyed it. I chose the veggie option with the red lentils, curried cabbage, and spinach potatoes. I liked them all but the spinach was my favorite. They come with the softest, special textured bread that you can use to wrap your veggies in. It was a sizable dish and I actually have enough leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. The person at the counter was helpful, providing me with usable information. The entire Edgewater food court concept is nice and entertaining and parking was easy to find.
My recent dining experience surpassed all expectations, leaving me in awe of both the delectable cuisine and the exceptional customer service. The moment I stepped up to the counter, I was greeted by warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout my visit. Their attentiveness and willingness to cater to dietary preferences made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. The menu offered a tantalizing selection of traditional Ethiopian dishes, and each dish I tried was a masterpiece in its own right. The flavors were robust, vibrant, and truly authentic, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of Ethiopia. What truly sets them apart was their commitment to quality and presentation. Each dish was beautifully arranged, showcasing the artistry and attention to detail that went into its preparation. The restaurant's dedication to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients was evident in the vibrant colors and delightful aromas that permeated the air. A hidden gem that deserves recognition for its outstanding food and exceptional customer service. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that will transport your taste buds to Ethiopia, look no further. Prepare to be delighted, captivated, and thoroughly satisfied at this remarkable establishment.
I’ve been meaning to try this spot for quite some time. Once a month my husband and I are at the Edgewater market for a community event and today was the day to finally try out this delicious food! I got the vegetarian breakfast plate, it was extremely flavorful and fresh. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the side was very tomato forward in the best way. I’ll definitely be getting the burrito next time, highly recommend for a light but filling brunch meal.
Konjo served me my food so fast! I ordered the chicken tibs with lentils - it was very savory and spicy. The injera was really good and not as sour as I’ve had at other Ethiopian places. I was really pleased with konjo, I only wish they served one more injera roll with the meal. Two are definitely not enough which is a good and bad thing, as they serve a good amount of the entree and side.
I paid $20.51 for what you see in the picture. Authentic flavors and the food does taste great. Unfortunately the injera was old and hard. A big mistake with Ethiopian food because injera is so important with every meal. I asked the guy behind the counter for some awaze, an Ethiopian sauce, and he gave me something that looked like hot sauce. It did have an Ethiopian flavor but was definitely not awaze. Upon reconsidering and changing my review a little, I will venture back to this place. Even though I think it is a little expensive the food does taste amazing and the flavors and spices are truly authentic. Having eaten in the capital of Ethiopia myself, Addis Ababa, the food here is truly good!
