I was so excited to finally try this place out for the first time. The food was either over cooked or twice cooked. I got the catfish and shrimp dinner with Mac n cheese and red beans and rice. The catfish was crunchy but it was very mushy inside and you could tell it was over cooked. The red bean and rice, the rice was dry, and I do mean dry but the beans tasted the way dog food smells. The Mac n cheese were okay. My hubby got the jerk steak dinner but the steak was burnt and very tough to eat. The black eye peas we got instead of the greens were also flavorless. It was not worth the $40 for recooked or old food that took 15 minutes to make. The staff was friendly but very disappointed in the food.
Mom and Pop vibes, which is nice. Likes: chicken, baked beans, sausage, pulled pork catfish, fried shrimp and the sauces Dislikes: greens, ribs and brisket (both dry)
Walked in and the atmosphere was already welcoming! Greeted by MissNix and sat down with some groovy music playing. Our orders came out hot a delicious looking. Tasted just as delicious as they looked!😁 My gizzards were delicious too! I liked it a lot and my kids. We will definitely send people their way! Thank you.
I enjoyed my catfish sandwich, but my guy’s hot links were actual perfection. It’s good to know of a reasonably priced place for catfish or hot links! I’ll have to try other stuff next time too. Wasn’t a big fan of the Mac & cheese, it was a little oily for my taste. Potato salad was pretty decent. People working there were the best.
The beef ribs were very tasty! And the house made sauce added a very flavorful taste! We love a good BBQ spot being we're Texans. The potato salad was very good, along with the okra. Next time we hope to try what the locals usually have which is the gizzards and chicken wings😁
