There are people who say that the services are overpriced but people MUST understand that these ladies are LICENSED HAIR COSMETOLOGISTS. Not some random women you found off of instagram because they are cheaper. These people have more of a right to charge more for their experience and knowledge. Unlike some other people that expect famous hairstylist prices when they haven’t even taken the proper steps to go to school and INVEST in their trade.
Came in for a hair treatment and styling . But my hair still felt so dry and she wasn’t sure of the style because it didn’t turn out the way she wanted. I left the shop with my hair still looking messy.I’m really disappointed and due to this , I was still over charged and I’m really disappointed because she had a few good ratings.
I went to Authentic Beauty Salon and I can confirm that she is rather expensive. She was nice and friendly, but the price she charged me was outrageous. I got full highlight, detox, shampoo/deep conditioner, and 2-strand twists for $245. Thankfully I went back and got $50 back with some products, although I still feel like I deserved more back as the prices were not outlined to me up front. It should have never cost that much. I’m not sure if she was trying to play me for a dummy, but I did not like that. Lesson learned on my end, but I want others in the Yale/New Haven area to be informed.
The staff are amazing! When I came I had never dyed my hair before and was a little nervous but they were so warm and compassionate, and gave reasonable suggestions to help take care of my hair. It came out beautifully, and I plan to go back soon for my third appointment. Would highly recommend!
Ive been coming to Authentic beauty salon for the last 5 months. And i must say that it has been the best hair experience i have ever had. The women here are amazing. Their knowledge about hair, skin and culture keeps you wanted to know more about your self. Their loving personalities make you feel at home. Each individual that enters the shop is greeted with a smile. I can go on and on about my know new second family but it would be better to visit...ks.
