The atmosphere definitely gives off soul when you walk in. Neo soul and R&B on the speakers when you walk in. It was very clean in the eating area when you walked in, which is a huge plus. The cornbread was amazing, so soft and the butter complimented the taste. The fried shrimp had the perfect breading and the sauce to accompany it. The fried chicken was also cooked to perfection, and the Mac n cheese was delicious. The waffle had the right amount of softness and crunch, a really good eat. I also want to shout out the middle aged waitress. It was quite busy and she was handling the front of the house with ease. And she was really nice and hospitable. She was a rock star and deserves her props. I am definitely coming back for the brunch experience. Truly a fantastic place to enjoy soul food!
Warm cornbread and comfort food. I had the Lemon Pepper Grilled Salmon and my wife the Bang Bang Salmon. Collard greens, yams, and roasted vegetables. She had the winter in Mexico and I the Ole'Soul. Good vibe, food and music. We are definitely going back to experience other options.
I paid full price and tip, as always. To start with what is wrong with your kitchen, do you think it’s okay to serve disgusting Mac n cheese, that’s the biggest mess up I’ve seen, even Kraft Mac and and cheese would have been creamier and tastier that this garbage. The rest of the food was mid at best, the only good this was the shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The ambience was trash, the bar was disappointingly not organized. Multiple dirty tables one table as you’ll see in the pictures took like 20 mins to be cleaned, even though it wasn’t that busy. And the noise and smells from the kitchen were so disgusting I got a headache that lasted for 3 hours. That’s it, not enjoy the pictures. Thank you

We made a stop here, and man this food was good. Got the fried chicken plate with candied yams and Mac and cheese. All excellent. Fried breading on the chicken was perfect, not too oily and great taste. Meat was tender. Sides were great, molasses based yams. Daughter got the shrimp and grits and was also excellent. Will be looking for excuses to come back. Wouldn’t hesitate to order catering from here either, as I saw people picking up trays when I arrived. Overall 5 stars
