My husband stumbled across this business on TikTok weeks ago! He was captured by a delicious looking salmon cheesesteak that a user posted, which was relatively in an area that we were familiar with. The place ambiance was JUST OK. In many cases, I'm ALL about eye-catching décor, looks of inviting spaces to support and especially purchase safe code inspected food options from. I'm not so sure how long the establishment has been around. It could use some updates & sprucing up to the space for sure. The gentleman taking our order was very patient, kind, and generous with answering ALL of our questions and taking our orders. Which, I feel, sets the tone of any business visit. Welp, our mission was simply to get our stomachs on HAPPY with operation "Salmon cheesesteak" - anything remotely close to a signature Philly like taste is going to be a homerun for us. The most amazingly beautiful and talented, what one would possibly describe as amateur artwork adorned the walls throughout the space. From captivating African Queens, beautiful vibrant colors with families, to world renowned sports figures (KOBE Bryant & Gigi 🕊🕯) , endless prolific civil rights activists, athletes, big lists authors, music artists, President Obama, and even a little kids library at the entrance. So, the mouth-watering salmon cheesesteak actually brought us to the establishment via TT. My husband searches for different places for us to try, or dine, or to explore near our home, of course, that's in driving distance. The sandwich was absolutely delicious! It had shrimp, broccoli, sautéed onions, and green peppers (which I'm not particularly a fan of), it appeared to have zucchini pieces as well on it. Prepared to perfection. Ahhh, from the soft and chewy bread, the endless flavors were captivating, an endless list of sauces to add to the steak, and the #1 special Akhi sauce was definitely the icing on the cake! My husband loved the proportionate sized with skin on french fries as well. The jerk sauces seemed to be a customer's favorite, as well they were ALL sold out that BUSY day! *SN: unbeknownst to us this particular Saturday, it was an event called: OctDOVERfest the afternoon thst we decided to venture out & explore for this weekend. I would have given a 5 🌟 for just the salmon cheesesteak, however; the first step into the business sets the tone. I struggled with this rating because honestly, MOST cheesesteak places don't have the best appealing appearance - however; the food speaks volumes for itself. We definitely would go back for another juicy salmon cheesesteak!
The food is good! My Boo loves the akhi sauce. I love the rose gold and teriyaki sauce. I'm sure all of them have a great taste. I usually order the chicken and shrimp over rice. We have had the lamb , shrimp, chicken over rice. I appreciate the consistency of the delicious food and the person at the register is always very kind. The prices are not crazy.
The food is always good, fresh and they give very large portions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner is down to earth and friendly. This store has made living in Dover a lot better its the closet thing I have to bodega sandwich in Brooklyn where I am originally from. Call in advance everything is made fresh. I also like the fact that the owner gives back to the community. Make sure you don't eat before you come they feed you well.
My first time stopping in at this location and placing an order. My husband G, usually places the orders those sauces seem overwhelming to me:) I must say I did well! The lamb rice platter was amazing and satisfied my craving I had for Akhibachis! The gentleman that waited on me was pleasant as well!! Hey G, I did it!!! Lol!!
Went to Akhibachis' last night and got a rice platter with steak, shrimp and chicken. I also go teriyaki and honey garlic sauce added on top. This is a great spot to get great food at along with great service. I strongly recommend anyone who reads this review to give this spot a try. You won't be disappointed
