Just like many places in DMV professionalism is not a strong suit here it seems. Never even received service. You cannot reach anyone on only phone number provided for the business and that number doesn't even have a mailbox set up to leave messages, strike 1. If you attempt to contact via email you will never get a reply back, strike 2. Finally, I just went ahead and booked an appointment just to get text the next morning that the stylist isn't actually available on the dates that were showing her available on the website, strike 3. Just a word of advice to the owner of this establishment from one Black woman with business management Master's degree and experience: It is not enough for our ppl to just have a business and make money (at least it shouldn't be) because that doesn't make us better to ppl who WILL NOT spend $ with us. I understand having a business is a full time busy job especially when you are working within your business too, but there is a simple fix to the problem here...hire a receptionist to answer business line, manage bookings and emails. Don't settle for a CEO title and a bag, wear the crown and get a bag maker (meaning make boss moves and put resources in place that sets your establishment apart and up as a REAL professional business, especially if other businesses around you are not). This was a very disappointing experience, but I hope my advise is taken seriously because I love and want to support my own and see us change stereotypes and prejudices in the business world.
I brought my 13 year old to Senna for knotless braids and she did not disappoint. Not only did her hair look neat for the entire time she kept her braids in, but it did not require excessive pulling for her to achieve the level of neatness. She also offers advice on how to keep the hair clean and healthy while in protective styles. I am extremely pleased with Senna’s services and her kind and welcoming personality. I cannot wait to return and see what she creates next.
Senna Stylez is an absolutely amazing and gifted person, if you are looking for an expert and authority in hairstyling then l can testify that the results are 100% excellent work. She always exceeded my expectations. She is very communicative. l will recommend her to anyone that wants top notch hair styles. I go to her to get cornrows and I always get compliments from people on a daily basis
I have been to several braiding salons over the years but none have come close to the experience I have had with the braid bar. I have had several stylists complain about how thick my hairdo . never once ever complained. Every time I come to The braid bar the customer service is great! The ladies makes you feel good and look good! I will never go to anybody else. Ever! I have even started taking my daughter to there and they are great with kids. My daughter is very tender headed and They are so careful and attentive. This salon is the best they are timely and always keep a good deal. And one last thing I loved is they have a awesome grip but what I love most is that when my hair is done being braided my scalp is not on fire and I get a good night sleep.
My experience was very professional and welcoming. The energy in the shop was great, my stylist Senna made me feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend The Braid Bar to my family and friends. Definitely returning in the near future for a touch up!
