Elizabeth is an absolute wizard with curly hair! She has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few years and she’s my favorite stylist I’ve had anywhere I’ve lived. I literally found her because I saw someone with gorgeous curls and asked her who did them and it was Elizabeth, and now I too refer people who ask about my curls! She’s also super helpful with everything from home styling routine tips and product recommendations to scheduling or billing issues. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Parlour DC has become my hair home in DC! After moving down to DC from Boston about ten years ago, I bounced around from salon to salon looking for the perfect baby blonde and blunt cut for super fine hair. Luckily I was introduced to Jefferson Wilson and my hair is exactly what I wanted. Best blonde of my life. The salon has 5 chairs, friendly staff, no attitude except for great customer service. Milbon, Amika and other products. Several of the staff do curly hair. Highly recommend.

Saw Jefferson for a Keratin consultation to confirm my curls wouldn't return after visiting a different salon for a Keratin treatment a few months before. Jefferson confirmed they wouldn't return and suggested a cut to enhance the curl pattern. He proceeded to ask some questions and he suggested layers, but I made the mistake of not specifying long layers. He proceeded to cut my hair when dry and I realized too much was being removed. Ever since this cut I have been crying and coming to terms with a style which is more difficult to maintain than the previous. The curls will stay for a day, but need restyling due to the keratin. The length will also take years to regrow. The salon/ Jefferson attempted to accommodate me, but it's important to know a clients styling habits before cutting their hair. Jefferson suggested new products, a new routine, and using a hooded or tabletop dryer. Buying and using a hooded dryer to accommodate a style is a large investment. He should not have suggested the cut. This is the worst cut I have ever received and I am trying to tell myself it looks good. It’s not about what others think, it’s about the client. Change is not always the answer.

1 star because the salon is clean and the support staff were great. Please avoid Jefferson if you have curly hair. I got my hair cut 6 months ago. I've trusted the process and have to tell you about the worst haircut of my life. I gave him full creative control and only asked that my curls be worn no shorter than my collarbone- so significantly longer bc of shrinkage. I left with my curls at chin length with the shortest layer reaching only to the middle of my nose. Maybe the length could be chalked up to miscommunication, but we also discussed at length that I need a low maintenance wash and wear style-by the end of the cut he's telling me in order to get this cut to look right I'll need to diffuse etc. I'm unhappy with the cut but trying to be a good sport. I proceed to have 3 months of needing to refresh my hair daily bc the short layer stands straight up every morning even w/ bonnet sleeping. I didn't feel like me. I didn't turn my camera on for work for a full week. It's been 6 months, and I still hate my hair. I wouldn't let Jefferson touch my hair again if you paid me. He communicated like he understood me and executed like he ignored me.

The most expensive & worst haircut I’ve ever had. Asked for no length to be taken off. They took off at least 2 inches. The majority of my hair is not even touching my shoulders!!! It was well below my shoulders when I walked in! Asked for some movement and layers and maybe long bangs. I left looking like a 90s boy. I don’t have the money to fix this, either. Because I spent it all on this awful cut. NOT TO MENTION it’s way too short and she took so much off it’s going to take months to get back to where I was. And I told her I wished it was *longer* than it was when I walked in there. I had done a simple trim on my own not long before in came in, so there was no damage to cut off, either. All I needed was some shape. When I checked out, nobody asked how it was or how I liked my hair. I would have answered honestly. Instead, they informed me they’d keep the rest of my cash for a tip instead of give me the change. They didn’t even know if I was walking out happy and they strong-armed me into tipping. I can’t even wear my hair up because it’s so uneven in the front. I’m going back and forth on posting a picture because I look embarrassing.
