The food was honestly disappointing because the fufu and jollof rice didn’t have taste, the red sniper was okay but overall the service wasn’t great. The platter was very expensive and it was literally one fish a small bowl of tasteless rice and a two scoops of fufu for 104.10 which I found amazingly overpriced. The staff was kinda rude because their payment system was not working. Acting as if we wasn’t going to pay for the food.
Let me tell you the food and vibe here was great. They played a mixture of Afrobeats and R&B music. It took longer than we expected to get our order taken (20-30 mins after being seated). We came on a Wednesday night, the orange blood and peach Bellini was awesome. Everything was prepared very well. I honestly didn’t care for the Jollof rice, my friend didn’t care for it either (he is from Jamaica). Everything else was really tasty. I would come back again only if I get a different server; he took his time to get to us and seem to have an attitude towards my husband.
I recently visited Moi Moi DC, and overall, I had a mixed experience. The hospitality was outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed the great selection of drinks available. However, I must admit that the food left something to be desired. In particular, the ribs seemed to be overcooked, which was disappointing. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the staff at Moi Moi DC made me feel welcome and provided excellent service. They were attentive, friendly, and created a hospitable atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience. The drinks menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of options to choose from. I found the selection to be creative and well-crafted, with each drink I tried being expertly mixed and delicious. The bartenders at Moi Moi DC certainly know their craft, and it was a highlight of my visit. However, I was less satisfied with the food I ordered, especially the ribs. Unfortunately, they appeared to be overcooked, resulting in a dry and tough texture. This was a letdown, as I had high expectations based on the ambiance and the quality of the drinks. While my experience at Moi Moi DC was marked by wonderful hospitality and great drinks, I believe that the restaurant could improve upon the food preparation, particularly the ribs. It's possible that this was an isolated incident, and other dishes might be more enjoyable. Nonetheless, I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to ensure a consistently delightful dining experience for their patrons.
My experience here was pleasant, the food was amazing the flavor of the suya was crazy good. The guy that served us was super nice and cool, also love the music that was been played. My only complaint is there should be the option of having the rice with chicken or fish. Unless I'm wrong and I didn't read the menu well to see if they offered it. But in general the food here is amazing.
I was excited to try Moi Moi; however, I was highly disappointed by the customer service and food. Upon arriving for our reservation, we were seated in a corner seat against the wall. We waited about 15-20 minutes before we were served water. Our initial waiter then served the party after us; once they sat down, they received their drinks and food within 30 minutes. We then requested water which we received. We ordered our food the Okra stew was not warm. The red snapper was good, and the peach cobbler wasn’t what I expected as traditional. However, our customer service experience was awful. We felt unwaited; our waiter, we didn’t know his name, didn’t ask us if we wanted to pack up our food, never checked in to see how our service was going or even refill our water pitcher. When we waited to pay for the check, we had to try flagging him down, but he ignored us. What initially was an 8.15 pm reservation turned into us leaving around 10:45, which is ridiculous. The cold appetizer, lousy customer service, long wait time, and 20% service fee left an awful impression, and for these reasons, I will not recommend Moi Moi.
