I have gotten my haircut here by Eunice for a few years now. I will not go anywhere else, Eunice is such a pro with the variety of cuts and styles we have done from shag to wolf cut to mullet-y, I trust her every single time and couldn’t recommend Blackbird enough! I’ve also done color with Justine a number of times and it’s literally the best highlighting / blocking I’ve ever gotten. 5 stars all around❤️❤️❤️
Blackbird is truly a breath of fresh air in the salon industry. When I first reached out they responded quickly and answered all my questions regarding my hair, pricing, and upkeep. After spending an entire day at the salon, full color and extensions!!, I can easily say Devin and her team are exceptional. You're greeted with a smile at the door and that warmth continues through your entire service. I have lived in D.C. for six years, and it can be challenging to find someone that is both talented and kind, yet, Devin is both these things. Her talent is clear in her knowledge of color and styling, but she possesses none of the aloofness that can make you feel alienated by your stylist. Instead, Devin helps you achieve your dream hair and feel beautiful each day until your next appointment. As for the salon, what I find so unique is the way in which there is a sense of being a part of the Blackbird family when you come in. Multiple members of the team worked on my hair and each one possessed skill and charisma. It is clear how much effort they put into creating an experience and cultivating a safe space to relax and be pampered. I feel so lucky to have found Blackbird and take comfort knowing that my hair will always be in good hands. I would recommend Blackbird to anyone and already have!
I had an amazing haircut by Stefani S. here. I showed her pictures of what I was going for and she executed exactly what I had in mind. My haircut was actually a month ago and I meant to write a review then, but I was re-inspired to write one now after seeing how nicely my hair has grown and how easy it’s been to style after the cut. You’ll be safe in her hands!
I refuse to let any other place touch my hair. I’ve been loyal to Devin and Bianca for a few years now. These ladies are extremely talented but still so humble and friendly. This is the best salon in DC, no doubt.
I had a haircut with Bianca, and a full highlight with Justine. Justine was personable, and incredibly knowledgable. She listen to my desire for easy, low , maintenance hair. I loved that my color included the glaze/toner, I just felt it elevated my hair and experience. My mom also had color done with Justine and it was rich and shiny. (my moms hair was kinda blah beforehand... sorry mom) Bianca worked with my hair texture to give me an amazing cut. I have thick hair and love a lot of movement. It turned out great. The salon is SO CUTE. I was easily able to find parking.. huge win. I truly believe you get what you pay for here. I really enjoyed my experience and will be back! I am editing after ten months, I finally went back. I didn’t even think my color needed to be done but I was ready to lighten it up! This time I had a full highlight with Justine, and no cut.
