Trust your gut if you have doubts on a stylists ability. I looked up the stylist I was assigned to get my balayage done and saw she only had a year experience out of beauty school, but thought that with the reviews here I'll give her a chance. Instead of actually doing balayage like I asked she did teasy lights on my extremely straight hair, leaving my hair in a state with stripes throughout and harsh lines of demarcation from where the bleach was applied. She also did horizontal back sections on the top of my head instead of doing the true balayage technique and now my hair is stripey and looks like I am a zebra. I am giving 2 stars instead of zero because they are refunding the balayage portion of my hair appointment but from a technical perspective I would give a zero. I even asked for it to be fixed when at the salon when I saw how stripey it was and even that attempt of fixing it barely helped. Stylists that do not have experience doing true balayage technique should not be booked for balayage appointments. Foil highlights are not a replacement of balayage when specifically asking for a blended balayage showing pictures of true balayage hair as inspiration. The stylist was very nice and my hair cut was good but she was just set up for failure getting booked with this appointment. I would have much rather been turned down from an appointment from this salon because of a lack of availability of artists with the appropriate experience to do what I requested for my hair instead of having this done. Now I have to go get a color correction at a different salon and will need to keep going back to the salon for gloss touch ups from the heavily bleached areas that should have never been bleached.
I love this place!! I’ve been coming here for a while and they always do an amazing job with my cut and color and make me feel so welcome! Everyone is extremely friendly and just an amazing atmosphere overall! Bridget does my hair and it looks amazing everytime I come in at amazing prices as well!!
Stephanie has been my hairdresser for over five years and she is simply amazing! She is friendly, extremely professional and most importantly really cares about her clients. Since I started working with her my hair has never looked better!! I have very thick, coarse hair and have tried Keratin in the past but have never felt the Wow factor. Recently Stephanie told me that the line they use came out with a new Keratin specifically for my type of hair. We tried it last week and as Stephanie promised the difference is incredible. My hair is smooth, silky, shiny and looks like I got highlights (which I didn’t). Thanks Stephanie for always making me look fabulous!
Oh gosh, just no! I went there and showed a picture of what I wanted, a long asymmetric bob (my own picture, so the hair is the same!) and a picture of what I did not want, a short straight bob. Guess what I went home with? Yup, a very short straight bob which is exactly what I hate. No apologies, no trying to make up for it. Just “oh well”. Stay away, not worth trying it out.
I have been going here for 20 plus years. It is my home away from home as everyone is so friendly. Mimma does a great job on my cut and color and style! Nancy is the best at facials and all my skin care needs. You know these ladies love their work. I would give this salon more than 5 stars if I could.
