Nice bakery downtown. Got a couple of pastries, and they were delicious. The donuts looked great but didn't buy any. Maybe next time as we are definitely planning to go back.
I called and ordered a carrot cake for my son-in-laws birthday on a Tuesday and picked it up on Friday. I told the woman I didn't want any carrots on the cake - just wanted some nice trim and Happy Birthday written on the cake. She asked me if I wanted balloons on it, and reluctantly, I said yes. To make a long story short, the writing, Happy Birthday, was very amateurish - as in form, the balloons were all the same color including the string or ribbons, and it looked like someone just put three globs of frosting. My husband picked it up and when we got home and I saw the cake - I was in shock that a bakery had done the decorating - it was horrible and very unprofessional. So, at that point I was just praying that the cake was tasty. Well, the cake had nuts and raisins in it, but the cake itself, was dry. We picked it up on Friday and served it on Saturday - it should not have been dry! Apparently this bakery has no competition and that is why they can get away with selling these under quality cakes. This was the first time I've ordered from this business and it is also the last time. I'm so disappointed in this bakery - really don't know how they stay in business.
We got 200 donuts for a donut wall for our wedding vs. the traditional wedding cake. In addition to being very affordable, the donut wall was a massive hit. Almost everyone had a donut and we got a lot of compliments about the freshness and taste. Great local bakery with tasty treats!
The older gray haired lady in there is rude! She acts like you are inconveniencing her. She doesn’t smile and is very short. This is the second time I have had to deal with her and she’s terrible! I placed an order for a cake for my granddaughter‘s first birthday and I asked for a 3 inch cake she immediately told me the smallest she could do is a 6 inch while in their book they show a 3 inch. I asked for light pink trim and gold trim icing and I received light pink and pale yellow. She said I told her to use light gold and I never said that I said gold and not only that is pale yellow! And she said ok at the time I ordered. It also was supposed to have two lines of icing around the trim top and bottom of the cake and it only had one on the bottom and one on the top. She said she would try to make gold icing to fix it and after 15 minutes of waiting she came out and showed me a yellow. The cake also has a spot on the back where it looks like a little hole. I told her never mind I will just take the cake I mean it’s my granddaughter‘s birthday today. And then when I cut into the cake the thing just collapsed in the middle and it’s dry. i’m completely unsatisfied and just taken back by the rudeness of this woman. I will never go back and I know I won’t be missed and that’s OK I just thought I would share my experience.
