I had my best salon experience in years yesterday at Salon 9. I received a fantastic haircut from Maryls. She listen to my past unfortunate haircut experiences and asked questions to make sure we were on the same page. She explained everything she was doing and kept checking in with me throughout the cut and blow dry. My hair looks exactly the way I wanted! Maryls is my go to from now on. 5 Stars for her and Salon 9! Thank you Maryls!
Not a good experience. My stylist Jessi texted me the morning of my appointment and asked me to come in 2 hours past my original time. OK, fine enough, I agreed. I arrived at the later time and the receptionist laughed and said "we haven't seen her yet, go ahead and have a seat and wait." Thought this was a strange and somewhat unprofessional response. She did arrive on time, took me back to her chair and without introducing herself to me, began to tell another stylist how she needed to pick her kids up off of the bus. She then asked me if I wanted my hair cut dry or shampooed. The service I booked online was for a cut and blow dry, but my hair is extremely long and thick, and there was no way she would be able to make school bus pickup if we did a shampoo and blow dry (again, we were already starting 2 hours later than my original appointment time), so I agreed to a dry cut. After about 15 minutes she removes the drape and said she was finished. She didn't show me the back of my hair. It wasn't until I was checked out and about to leave that I was able to look in another spare mirror in the salon and see the cut. It wasn't really what I had envisioned so I walked back and asked if she could do a bit more. She agreed, to her credit, and fixed the length but again never showed me the back of my hair. Didn't really seem to care if I was pleased with the results, and only after getting home and taking photos myself do I realize that the results are *still* not what I was hoping for. I honestly wish she would have just cancelled my appointment if it wasn't a good day for her to work. I'm not happy with my hair and was made to feel like an inconvenience to the stylist the entire time. I'm probably going to have to get this fixed elsewhere. ETA: I just realized I was charged the price for a cut and blow dry despite only receiving a dry cut. Have reached out to management to have this corrected.
Village 9 Salon is the best!!!! Kelly Burrows is the only hair dresser I have ever been to that does my curly hair justice! Kelly makes the entire process from scheduling to payment a breeze, she is not only extremely talented and reliable but also incredibly kind and fun. She pays attention to the little things and makes the whole appointment super relaxing. While massaging my scalp during shampooing another stylist even came over and said “Wow Kelly I don’t even do all that for my clients.” She is the best!!! The entire salon is clean and well organized, I highly recommend visiting!!!!
So as a first time client I booked an appointment with Kelly Jenkins only to find out she cancelled because something more important came up. They could not find anyone to fill in so now I will find another place to spend my money. Thanks for nothing.
Kelly is a great hair stylist. She always understand what I want and make my hair look amazing! She has a good sense of fashion. She is also very quick, so I don’t have to spend too much time in the salon.
