Best photo store in Philly hands down. They have it all. Film, classes, high end photo/video equipment, all of the accessories/add ones you could ever need, rentals and phenomenal customer service. Fair prices for reliable, quality products. The staff is very knowledgeable, highly experienced, super patient and kind. Chris and Kristen thank you so much for all your help, be back soon!
I would honestly not trust this place for any of your camera rental needs. Staff members do not communicate or know correct information, and are not problem solvers. The first time I rented here was not the best experience (they didn’t include a camera strap and then scoffed when I asked) but the camera equipment itself was fine so I decided to rent a camera body for a big event today. I booked everything online a few days before and had called the store to figure out how to let my second shooter pick it up. They directed me to a form online and said it would be no problem. When my photographer arrived to pick up the body they refused to hand it over without the original credit card, and offered no way to troubleshoot despite the fact, I confirmed everything on the phone with them the day before. She had provided a photocopy of the car used just as they had instructed. They are unreliable, offer no customer service, and quite frankly are quite rude. I hate to support a big corporation, but I will only be renting from Canon or from an online camera rental from now on.
My first experience with Unique, last year, went well. They digitized a few old slides for me and did everything on time. The staff was friendly. My second experience was quite the opposite. I dropped off a roll of slides to be developed, and a few more old slides to be digitized. They said the slides would be done in two weeks (processed on site), and the digitizing would be done in four or five days. They insist you wait for an email from them before going back to the store to pick up your order. THREE weeks went by. When I called (how dare I not wait for the email!) they told me the roll of slides had been developed, and the digitizing would be done "within half an hour." So, it looks like they were just sitting around for three weeks before being digitized. When I got the scans, it was clear they had not cleaned the dust off the slides, and one was done backwards. My recommendation is DON'T USE THEIR LAB. Mail order is faster and does a better job.
First time customer. Purchased new camera and equipment for my son. Staff was friendly and our sales associate Kristin Tsafos was superior. She was so patient and helpful and answered all my questions. She made product recommendations suited for our purchase and definitely will be returning in the future.
A great camera shop in Philly. Fully stocked with a wide variety of gear. Super helpful team of people working there. And a great selection of photo books with new additions always being added.
