20% mandatory tip for a single person? I was surprised as usually restaurants apply this on large groups. As far as food, the shrimp and grits were one of the best I've had in Orlando. The next place for me has been in Savannah GA. The truffle fries were good too. Bathroom was clean. I sat at the bar and service was good. Knocked off one star for the 20% mandatory tip but maybe it's necessary in the area it's in?
The rib grilled cheese was awesome, so were the truffle fries. The truffle mac side was nice and hot and fresh, but it could really use more flavor. They have High Noons which is nice. Our waitress was nice and all too, but she didn't tell us it was a 3.75 upcharge from regular fries to truffle tries. And despite all of us paying separate, because we were a large party (9), there was an automatic 20% service charge, otherwise i would've taken 3.75 out of the tip :/
First and last time here. Honestly it was the service that killed it for me. Half of my order was over cooked and I left hungry looking for another brunch spot. We waited so long for drinks and over an hour for our food. Our drink were never refreshed and as long as the bar took we would have waited forever for another drink. There wasn't even alot of ppl in the restaurant either. Apparently, this restaurant supplies for the club next door as well. Everyone who ordered waffles said they were cold. Definitely can't see myself coming back and I love a good brunch spot.
The good was good at this restaurant. We had Mia as our server and she was able to handle a large party of 19. However the kitchen kept getting our orders wrong bringing out the wrong items. But the Loster Mac & Cheese was good, shrimp tacos were good and there wings and gator bits were good.
Food was solid, but weird service experience. Sitting right by video board advertising Friday happy hour (photo attached), server was adamant that they didn't do happy hour on Fridays. After seeing it rotate through on the board again, server got mad when we asked again. Then he rolled his eyes after we asked about getting a baseball game on one of the many TVs (we knew right away it was never coming in). Food was slow (eavesdropping I don't think it got entered), but manager stepped in, apologized and gave a discount. Others have mentioned mandatory 20% tip, even though we were a party of 3. Normally we tip above that, but was questioning that amount after insulting service.
