Miss Brenda is not only skilled in natural hair (I have thick hair with a course texture), but also a wonderful person to talk to about the things of life! She gave me bouncy curls that remained for one day and then fell very nicely afterwards. I was glad that, with her styling expertise, I was able to maintain my silk press for 2 weeks. I enjoyed getting my hair cared for at Natural Strands and will certainly be returning!
I visited this salon on June 19 2023. I will not be returning to this salon. The salon has good customer service. The appearance of my natural hair twist was good. My hair was not tight. The price was reasonable. Brenda was my stylist. There was no consultation before to ask if I had any allergies or sensitive. I had baking soda put in my hair, which is very high in ph and did not agree with my scalp so it burned. I ask for a trim and my hair was cut extremely uneven. This was partially due to the power going out thus blow dryer going out of service so she trimmed some parts blown out and some curled. No discount was offered for this mishap. The uneven strands of my hair caused tangles all over and made my hair unmanageable. Although the price is at market price, after seeing the damage done to my hair and scalp after my hair was pulled out was not worth it. The daughter sells a handsanitizer that is amazing. Also some oils that smell good but just didn't work for me. Overall, I will not trust Brenda with my natural hair again.
Today I had Toni do my hair for the first time. She was very gentle with my hair and scalp, and very easy to talk to. She was very informative about the upkeep and general well being about my hair. I definitely found my forever stylist as long as I'm in Jacksonville! *Update* Went back to Toni for knotless Braids, first braiding experience that wasn't painful. As always, very gentle with my hair and extremely informative when it came to trimming my ends. See ya in 6 weeks! 💝
