Would not recommend, not worth the trauma🤚 I want to shed some light on a concerning trend that I've noticed within certain pastoral circles. Today, I want to talk about narcissistic pastors who crave the title of "Chief," surround themselves with yes-men, and prioritize the establishment of numerous programs, camps, and a grandiose image. While not all pastors exhibit these traits, it's essential to be aware of the potential dangers associated with such behavior. When a pastor seeks to be called "Chief" or any other title that elevates them above others, it raises red flags. True shepherds of a congregation should prioritize humility and service, rather than demanding titles that separate them from their community. Moreover, surrounding oneself with yes-men creates an unhealthy echo chamber. Pastors should encourage diverse perspectives and constructive criticism to ensure they remain accountable and connected with their congregation's needs. A leader who is surrounded only by those who unquestioningly support them can easily become disconnected from reality and fail to address the genuine concerns and challenges faced by their community. Another concerning aspect is the tendency to start numerous programs, camps, and initiatives solely to create an image of grandiosity. While having programs and camps can be beneficial for a community, it's important to ensure they are meaningful, well-organized, and genuinely meet the needs of the congregation. When pastors become more focused on the quantity of these initiatives rather than their quality and impact, it can be a sign of misplaced priorities. These narcissistic tendencies and bullying behavior can have detrimental effects on a congregation. People may feel overlooked, unheard, or even manipulated for the pastor's personal gain. It is vital to create an environment where open dialogue and collaboration are encouraged, rather than authoritarian rule. Let's remember that true pastoral leadership should be rooted in empathy, compassion, and humility. It should prioritize the spiritual growth and well-being of the congregation above personal ambitions. As members of a community, it's crucial to be vigilant, hold our leaders accountable, and promote an environment where everyone's voice is valued.
Pastor Grace is a fine shepherd who preaches straight from the scriptures. He is honest and doesnt give a sugarcoated version of the Lord's word. He truly cares about the souls of others and seeing our souls get into heaven. He strictly teaches that our salvation is through the Lord God, Jesus Christ. Im happy to say I was able to attend this service and pray with this congregation. I pray the Lord continue to bless them as they move forward in their mission to encourage others to whole heartedly accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Thanks be to God 🙏❤
I have been looking for a church that is the Gospel, plus nothing. i have been attending now for three months. I'm pretty far away, so I can't attend all the services and activities; but what a breath of fresh air. Great church, great pastors; senior and youth pastors. Young folks there are VERY involved. It is very impressive. Pastor Sparks sticks to the Gospel message, nothing more. I think that is why the church is "splitting the seams." It is PACKED at every service, even a good number of cadets from Massanutten Military Academy, who are not required to attend church. If you're looking for a church to call home, home is at GRACE BAPTIST, awaiting you.
