What do you get at a Caribbean Grill? Had to go with the jersey pork and jersey chicken...honestly the best I have ever had! Flavorful, moist, and just a bit spicy. Not much room to sit inside, so get it to go and take it across the street for a picnic.

I really liked it here. We came in towards the end of the day. They were out of many things on the menu, or they were running out. They prepare everything on the spot. There was only one waitress and one cook. This translates into longer wait time, but we were ok with that. Valerie was our waitress. She took each of our names to allocate our orders by names. The place is quaint and has a lot of character and personality. The waitress let us know they were shorthanded, and that everything is served in to-go plates. Soooo... We were informed. As they were out of macaroni and cheese, and some other items, they gave us a free order of Gumbo to go! Yes, this actually happened. Whatever they were short on, they made it up with service and a smile, professionalism, and honesty. Everything tasted great still. The seating is similar to elegant and luxury house furniture (some mismatched, but nice and comfortable). The place showcases a lot of American history, especially from Louisiana. It's a really place that makes you feel at home. Really. They brought out the salad. The dressing for the salad was homemade. It was Da BOMB! I need them to package this... 😊. They have a garden that they use to make the salad dressing from scratch. Everything here is made from scratch using recipes handed down through the family for years. O-M-Goodness! It tasted like it... They make a "dirty beignet". You just have to try it as an appetizer. The bottled water is $1. The home-made limeade was $2.75. We didn't get a refill. The place is a nice place, it's quaint. The food is excellent. It's a small business with real Creole food and recipes. The food portions were adequate. I recommend this place if you love excellent Creole Food in a nice quaint down-home Louisiana feel. If you grew up in the Dirty-South or the Bayou with good home cooking, this is a place for you. The atmosphere is a very good cultural Creole experience. I recommend this place.

Calling all Vegans and small business lovers! I finally made it to Chief's Creole Cafe they are open until 10 pm now on Saturday (maybe more days than that) and have a vegan menu that is to die for!! So delicious!!! This place is beautiful and Valerie and Ramona are so lovely! It is a must try! And you can bring your own drinks and they will put it on ice for you! I tried the buffalo soldier wrap, red beans and rice with vegan sausage, and fried vegan shrimp and grits! All amazing! GO! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend 😁

Fried Catfish was amazing, robust flavor, fresh and melted in my mouth, collard greens was perfect! I would have had a photo of my food but clearly it was too good to wait. The decor was beautiful, a nice homage to the cuisine. Shout out to the hostess and Val who was our server. She was warm, personable and kept us updated on our food, she could tell we was ready to eat! Thanks for everything! The food was definitely MADE WITH LOVE!! Can’t get that anywhere else!

This soul food restaurant is located near the St. Petersburg Warehouse Art District. It is a couple of miles from Tropicana Field and next door to The Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum It has been a staple of the community for eight years. The portions are satisfying. The food is flavorful even when warmed up at home (do not forget your sauces… the bread pudding has one as well as fish) Ask them to warm the sauce up that goes on your bread pudding…just a little…and pore it on (you are welcome). The prices are competitive. There is ample parking in the rear. Currently they are only offering carry out ordering. Consequently indoor seating is not available. But, they do allow you to eat on their patio. I highly recommend giving them a try… the sweet potato fries were “to go back for” and the corn muffins actually had corn in them. There service was welcoming. The order was brought out to the table (be kind and tip).
