We were a group of six and we came for brunch on Sunday noontime. The restaurant was busy but, there were several tables empty. However, we were told that the wait time was 1 hour. We contemplated leaving but, after only 25 minutes, they actually called us for a table. As other reviewers have mentioned, the waiter told us right away that they were out of several items. The list was so long that for a moment we thought that he was telling us the stuff that they had available instead but, it wasn’t. Anyways, we found some options. The food was actually good and the portions decent, however everything seemed strictly measured. For instance, one of us ordered toast for a side and, it was literally one (1) slice of bread. Also, the plates had no garnishes at all, like not a single bit of fresh vegetables or fruits or anything else. We understand that food waste is a serious issue but, a little extra goes a long way. That said, our waiter was very friendly and very attentive. My side order of fries took longer than everything else but, he did what he could to take good care of us.
Overall it was a good experience. We arrived around 1030a on a Sunday. We were seated & served immediately. I think our server was Michael C., or something like that. He was efficient & personable. We received our order in a timely manner & our order was accurate. Cons: zero nondairy alternatives for the coffee, out of pineapple juice, out fried green tomatoes. Based on other reviews, running out of menu items appears to be a pattern. Pros: flavorful & creamy grits, the spicy aioli compliments the shrimp & deviled eggs perfectly, fluffy biscuits, & the three strips of thick & salty bacon compliments sweetness of brioche french toast & thick pancakes perfectly. Advice: Address your ordering and/or supply chain issues. I really wanted those fried, green tomatoes. Also, you should at least be offering almond and oat milk as nondairy alternatives. Other than that, keep up the good work.
My first time experience was OK. They were out of a few things nothing major, but it was a little odd that they would be out of those minor items. The service was very attentive. There was no one inside when we arrived so it was very quiet. The food was OK. It did not wow me. I had the shrimp and grits. The sauce was really good and the shrimp were tasty, but could get a little salty after a while. The beignets were hot and fresh. Unsure if I would return again, but at least they do have a great menu options to try. The atmosphere of the restaurant was somewhat inviting.
Come here! The grits are buttery, tacos are fresh, bananas foster beignets are crisp and sweet, and the breakfast fries are saucy! Quality and fresh are the top word choices. Large open dining area with a bar. We're coming back!
The parking here was a nightmare, it smelled funny when we walked in and it was crazy overpriced, coming from a Miami resident. That being said the service and food were 5 stars. There was a quick wait on a Sunday afternoon but we were greeted and updated by a nice hostess. Our waiter was quick with the service and the food was to die for! Would definitely return.
