The owner was very unfriendly, made me feel as if I was unwelcome there and I will never return. I do not recommend. Also, my hair lasted one day (silk press).
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The owner (and only stylist- Curley) has always had an unfriendly and unwelcoming approach since day one. She does not AT ALL provide a friendly vibe to her business. She is also very quick to go to unpleasantries and make up certain strict rules whenever she feels like it. Communication from her is edgy and inconsistent. She is very quick to become aggravated with her clients. On top of that, nothing here is unique to natural hair care, except the few items she sells and her just simply doing natural hair (mainly silk presses). Recently, she has also increased her prices, although she did not increase the quality of her work. The trim that I received recently still had a- lot of split ends (that I didn’t notice until I got home), but she charges $25 additional for it. Me and a few other people have vowed to never come here again.
Ms. Curly is great at comb coils....I have probably repeated her service about 7 or 8 times....My mom got a silk press and she loved it. .Very professional and very efficient. In these Covid Times, her salon is very Clean...and takes precautions (fever check, constant wipe downs). The best part is that she does not stack her clients and their are very small wait times if any. There are also a limited amount of people in the salon..so social distancing is great!
I brought my two girls in to get a silk press. The worst $200.00 I have ever spent on hair. When I arrived and looked at the finished product I asked the stylist - Curly why did it look like this and she stated because my daughter needed a cut. So why did she not think to call me to suggest this. This is her job! My second child did get her hair cut and it still looked as if it was blow dried and curled. I expect an experienced hairdresser when I am spending $100 per child on a silk press! 1 day later and they are walking around with ponytails. Which was my reason for booking this appointment in the first place! In response to your reply- my girls had not had their hair braided, nor was I asked if I would like my daughter’s hair cut...
I hoped for a better experience. Curly did my hair today and I asked for a wash, deep conditioning, trim and two strand twists. I have to say that the wash/conditioning was good, my hair felt great after but the twists...She spent about an hour on the twists and they were so uneven. It really looked like she wasn’t trained on twists and I wish she would’ve told me. I now have to redo my hair at home. This is something no client should have to do especially after paying over $100 for service.
