Steve is an incredible photographer and a complete joy to work with. We were initially nervous about taking engagement photos as we had never done a photo session before, but he made us feel really comfortable; worked with us to make our theme come true; and was very prompt at communicating everything needed to receive amazing prints. Even after the session, his friendliness and willingness to help realize a dream made the experience very enjoyable. I would highly recommend him to anyone else in the NoVA area.
Steve was an absolutely pleasure to work with. He took the time to plan out our engagement photo session and was super excited about our idea of taking photos near an old locomotive. He put this amazing flare into the photos we chose and they turned out gorgeous. He was so accommodative, friendly and professional. Would not have had such an easy and fun photo session without him.
Steve was an incredible photographer for our wedding. He met with us a couple of times over the phone since we did not live close by. We were quickly made comfortable through the conversations because he cared about understanding all the aspects of our wedding, venue, size, style, family dynamics, outfits, etc and the styles/poses we wanted for photos. We knew we would not need to worry at all. The whole process and day of the wedding, Steve was very professional and enjoyable. It’s obvious he has a heart for marriage and family. He was early and even stayed later than what we agreed. He managed family dynamics very well and took beautiful photos; portrait and candid. He moved us along through different poses and locations in good time but did not rush us. We did photos before the ceremony. Steve made sure we got everything we wanted and was even done with more time to spare than expected, which was much appreciated. Throughout the wedding, Steve captured such sweet moments we are blown away that we get to cherish forever. On top of being talented, responsible, professional, and warm, Steve is an extremely gracious and kind person as he worked with us on prices and packages. An overall outstanding experience and result beyond our expectations. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Steve!
My daughter and I had a fabulous experience working with Steve Johnson for her high school senior photos. As a dad himself, he understands really well how to work with teenagers. The finished portraits are amazing. I only wish he had been in the DC area when my 2 older kids were in high school. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to capture a special time with beautiful photos.
Steve is incredible, both in art and personality. We hired him to do both our engagement photos and our wedding photos, for which he traveled all the way to Massachusetts. A single review can't do justice to his completely personalized service. But I'll try. From customizing packages to suit our budget to photographing extra events like the rehearsal dinner to being somehow everywhere all at once to his quality banter that made everyone feel at ease, Steve's photography isn't just professional or good (although it is those things)--it's an experience we will remember for a lifetime. And we have the evidence to prove it! These photos are physical memories that guests now see when they come to our home and we will be able to pass them down to future generations. I wouldn't trust anyone but Steve with that responsibility.
