The food and baked goods are always excellent, no doubt. I have to rate them down today after consistent issues whether at the shop, custom order, or special event. On both of my recent visits, there has been some kind of issue getting my order. The staff are amazing and nice and it's no reflection on them. Last visit I got a coffee and a baked good, and waited and waited for my latte, figuring they were busy or dealing with something - nope, something didn't print. Today my and my friend's breakfast sandwich orders didn't print, same issue of waiting and waiting and watching the counter and trying to figure out when we should ask about our order without bothering the staff. They did give us a free pastry which was nice. Something similar happened at their mother's day tea last year, with a reservation, we waited and waited while every other table got their service and were enjoying it, come to find out they forgot or something and had to figure out what to do for our table - food was great, but it sucks to have the family stressed and hungry at a mother's day event. And then there's my birthday cake cookie topper where they squished on my name, I guess not realizing it was a longer name and not caring to redo it or put it nicely on two cookies. I messaged DC privately and never received a response. So after trying them for years between their cafe, a reservation event, and a custom order, I cannot recommend making the effort of being a one time or repeat customer.

Definitely glad I went through the whole google search of custom cakes and stumbled across this place ! Will definitely be buying more cakes ! Idk who made it but on the paper it said Joel V. So give that person a raise or who ever made this cake! Thank you
I ordered a cup of Salty Dog Mocha (less sweet), a Poppyseed Passion Fruit scone & a Lemon Curd Biscuit. I chose the mocha because its name made me giggle & the pastries because this was the first time I have seen these flavors sold in a bakery, so I was curious. The drink was delicious and the pastries were yummy but they were a bit sweeter than my general liking. Nonetheless, glad I tried. Spacious room with some tables around with good lighting. Couple outdoor seating as well. Friendly staff.
This is my favourite bakery, full stop. I don't think I've ever had anything I didn't like here, and I'm addicted to their Local Harvest Cake quick bread! Pretty much everything they make here is seasonal, which means all the fruit&veg in their dishes are properly ripe, and there's always something suited to the weather outside. The building itself is a historical house, and they've balanced keeping it aligned with its history and up to date with modern amenities beautifully. It's lovely to hang out here and have breakfast or lunch, and when the weather is nice there are picnic tables scattered outside. Highly recommend visiting if you've got the time!
