I have no complaints about Albertine’s!! I made an appointment and was seen as soon as I walked in. I got medium knotless braids and was out in 5.5 hours. I was truly impressed because I have really short hair and my braids came out beautifully! Everyone there was respectful and welcoming. I found my new braiding shop! I will surely be back! 🤗
So I’m doing a review on Albert-tine Contour Braiding at 305 Muddy Branch RD Gaithersburg MD. They are open 24 hours a day so instead of waiting for your regular hairdresser or somewhere else you can always go there. The inside of it is primarily black as far as the braiders and the interior. But when I called to say I want to get flat twist done, they told me that it would be $15 for a washing because usually it’s $25. It’ll be 50 to take out my hair and it will cost me $80 to to get it done. around $145 when I usually calls me at my local place about $70 because the wash is already included. My total came up to $149. When you go inside it’s mostly black floors, black chairs. There is a little sitting area they’re selling pocketbooks Shea butter, other products in plastic containers with no names on it so if you’re not familiar with some of the stuff, then don’t worry about it because they don’t tell you what it is or whether you need it for your hair or not. Nothing behind the counter through that little see-through window. Did I want to purchase any of the stuff there’s no labels to let you know what it is They’re primarily playing African Christian music YouTube over & over again if they do get to play any other African music until the manager comes in and he controls the remote and the register, when I looked at my hair it was done so small my appointment was for 10:30 AM. I arrived at 10:15 am & finished at 2:30 pm that was 4 hours. But the kicker is that when the hair braider goes up with you to the register, they say a whole different price she tacked on another $4 making the total $149. I still gave a $20 tip but after sitting there for four hours and doing my hair real tiny so the front is smaller than the back The back has different sizes So when I came in I got my hair washed that was $15, usually $25 then she took out 5 to 7 braids that cost me $50 then $80 to do my hair so so very uneven plus I think the lady that did my hair charged me the $4 for a can of mousse because my goodness she used so much of it that my hair is so limp. Oh my goodness I kept dozing off because I was like Let’s Get It Let’s Go!! the only thing I can say about this place is that it is a traditionally African hair braiders shop. They do provide the hair if you want extra or colored weave
I drive 2 hrs to Albertine every couple months ! This is, hands down, theeeee best salon in Gaithersburg, MD. Human hair, no shedding … use multiple times! Great atmosphere! She’ll have you leaving , looking & feeling like a celebrity ❤️❤️❤️
Bad salon ,bad service pathetic 😒. Go to this place at your own risk. They are loud and they will invite you in a friendly manner to do your hair. They don't braid, plait or do weaves well. Dirty place and the owner is very loud . Not everyone wants to be taken pictures and videos after services so that you continue marketing a bad salon. Please hire or train good braided or hair stylists. They charge 5dollars for debit card this is illegal. Oh and they give wifi password to the people they like. Unprofessional and bad service
I loved my experience. Just double check they have your hair color before going, I didn’t but i still loved the outcome. I went in for boho box braids shoulder length and I was out in under 4 hours! The price was very reasonable, I will be definitely coming back on the regular!
