Went here for the first time for their Pirate Party! Such a blast!! There were lot's of beginner dancers and a handful of advanced ones. Not sure if that's a typical crowd or not, but it was a nice mix of people that were fun to hang out with and easy to talk to. Yummy snacks, good music, and fun times - easily got my $15 worth of joy. :-) Looking forward to going back for the Carnival!
My husband and I took dance lessons before our wedding with Tanya, and we had a blast. It was difficult to convince him to come take lessons with me at first, but after the lessons he was so glad he decided to do it! Tanya was very patient with two very inexperienced dancers. She put a cute dance together for us to learn for our first song and it was a highlight of our wedding! I would highly recommend Art is Motion not only for a special occasion, but also for a fun date night!
I worked with Tanya from Art is Motion dance studio to prepare a first dance for my wedding for me and my husband and my father. Tanya was so wonderful! She really took the time to listen to our idea of what we wanted and our feedback as she choreographed the dance. She understood my vision but was able to shape it for my husband who is not a seasoned dancer. She is great at teaching beginners and I saw my husband learn so much in just 5 lessons. I would definitely book her again!
My wife and I had private lessons for our first dance done here. Tanya was able to listen to the song we wanted and came up with a phenomenal dance for us to do at our wedding. Both of us were complete beginners to dancing but she worked with us to create the perfect dance to our song that had flare but was still simple enough for beginners to learn and accomplish. We both thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and working with Tanya was a blast.
If you want to learn how to dance ... truly learn how to dance ... Art is Motion is the place for you. The owner, Tanya, understands and knows the mechanics as well as the art of dancing better than any other instructor I have ever met. Quality should be her middle name. No matter your skill level, she will stretch you into the next level ... and then the next ... and then the next. She never ceases to amaze me in the detailed way that she can explain the myriad of details that go into correctly carrying out a single dance step. While extremely knowledgeable of the mechanics and the art of dancing, she is also FUN! Her classes are enjoyable, upbeat and she doesn't lose touch with the fact that we all dance for the FUN of it. The same thing, by the way, needs to be said about her protege Michaeline, who, true to her mentor, is an awesome dance instructor. One more thing that needs to be said about Tanya is that behind the professional and effective dance instructor that she is, lies a kind and gentle soul who TRULY wants you to learn how to dance. Regarding the facility, it is simply gorgeous. The studio is divided into two separate areas, one small and one large, with an excellent sound system, windows throughout and plenty of room on the hardwood dance floor. Bottom line, look no more, call Tanya and come take lessons with us!!!
