We arrived soon after TAP opened, so there was no wait. The server took our order quickly, and food was brought to the table quickly. Now, with the restaurant being empty, the server would have checked on us, but that did not happen. Seem since we did not order any alcoholic drinks, then our table was not visited. There were a few problems with our food, but we could not catch the server to complain. My steak was supposed to be medium well but was medium and laying on my mash potatoes, so there was blood everywhere. My wife asked for no cucumbers in her salad, but her salad came with cucumbers everywhere. The manager came to the table as we were wrapping up to leave, we shared our concerns, but nothing happened. It will be a long while before we visit again.
THEY SERVED ME RARE CHICKEN ON MY CAESAR SALAD!!!!!! My husband and I decided to eat here after spending time in the casino last Saturday night. First, we waited about 45 minutes for a table which is fine considering it was a busy night. After being seated we waited about 40 to 45 minutes before my husband was forced to find our waiter. It just so happened to be the same waiter that we saw serving the table right next to us. When my husband tried to flag him down, he held up his index finger as if he were telling us one moment. 15 minutes later, my husband found him again and that’s when he decided to just tell him what we want to order. Although our food arrived in a timely manner, we didn’t receive the marinara sauce that was supposed to come with the Mac and cheese bites. The worst part of this experience was what I noticed after several bites of my Caesar salad. I attached a photo of my rare in the middle-grilled chicken here. So disgusting and dissatisfying. I immediately showed the waiter who we had to flag down again and his response was ,” do you need more chicken?? Or just take it off?” At this point, I didn’t want to risk eating anything else from there. This is definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
My wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at TAPS and the MGM casino. I've always seen the TAPS restaurant during the many times we visited the MGM casino but never went in there to eat. I saw that the TAP Sports Bar has blocked the entrance outside of the casino and now requires patrons to get to the restaurant by coming through the casino first. The hostess greeted us and there was no one in line so we were able to be seated immediately. Before being seated, the hostess interestingly asked for my name and phone #. I received a text message after she asked for that information stating that we were placed on the waiting list while we were being seated by the hostess. That moment was just odd. Once seated, our server Donald was awesome. He was personable, respectful and funny. The food was delicious, and the smith island cake was a great dessert to end our dining experience. When we got seated at our table, I also asked our server Donald if I could speak with a manager to inquire about booking the lounge area at TAPS for my upcoming 50th birthday party. He went and made it known to the manager on duty that I would like to speak with them. The manager was in a middle of a meeting with other managers as we were told, so I waited until the end of our meal to ask our server again to speak with a manager. The manager was still busy and could not give me a few minutes of their time to ask a simple question. I did receive information from the front desk on the way out but was disappointed that the manager on duty could not give me a few minutes of their time.
On my way to my reservation at the Gaylord Hotel and I stopped by to get takeout. Most of the other places had closed. This one was open for another 40 minutes by Google Maps. People were eating at tables and at the bar. I could not access entry through the casino floor because I had my travel back with me. The entrance guard notified me that luggage is not permitted on the casino floor. So I went to the side door where the sign says push button to place and pick up orders to go. I pressed the button twice in the 15 minutes I stood there being ignored by the staff. The first time I pressed it I saw what I thought was a staff member coming to assist me. But then they just seemed to disregard me and turned away.... That was as close as it came for me. The other establishment was something I had no stomach for at the time. So I knew there was not anything open by the time I would get to my hotel area. At least I got a free shuttle to The Gaylord Hotel where I have my reservation. I was ordering a taxi when the shuttle pulled up. It said free shuttle to XYZ... So I jumped in. Silver lining....
Title: A Night of Frustration at Tap Sports Bar Review: My evening at Tap Sports Bar, located within the MGM, stands out as one of the most dismal dining experiences I have encountered in recent memory. We were initially informed of a 30-45 minute wait time for a table, which quickly escalated into a two-hour ordeal with still no table in sight. The host and manager displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and customer service acumen, their attitudes bordering on rudeness. This lack of courtesy and organizational chaos seemed to resonate throughout the establishment, with a noticeable absence of staff attending to the growingly disgruntled customers inside the bar, even as they hosted a sold-out event outside with a woefully inadequate two bar staff members. After multiple inquiries about our table were met with indifference and a lack of concrete answers, we decided to cut our losses and try our luck at Diablo’s. Contrary to our prior experience, we were immediately seated, and the service was outstanding.
