I had an appointment with the stylist named Debria. Though she was kind, I left this salon feeling very unsatisfied with her service. I have natural hair and I assumed the stylist knew how to deal with it. I had a gelled down ponytail and she said your hair is matted, which wasn’t true. She then began to detangle my hair while it was dry…. She shampooed my hair good then she put I believe a deep conditioner in my hair but she did not detangle my hair with conditioner on for slippage she just had me sit at the bowl with a shower cap on for about ten minutes. My hair had not been detangled and she began blow drying and it was the most horrible experience ever getting my hair blow dried it was not gentle at all. I also got burned on the forehead with the blow dryer. When the stylist combed my hair she used a medium sized comb and small comb on my hair and combed my hair from root to end causing excruciating pain. I was honestly so ready to go I wanted to ask her to stop in the middle of it, but I allowed her to finish. I let her cut an inch of my hair and the ends look bad still and there is a huge gap in my hair in the back on the end. She did my hair and I paid what was asked but it was not worth the $100.00 at all. This stylist may work for older women with permed hair but no natural hair I would not recommend at all. This was my first and last visit to Shear Design salon.

I had an amazing first experience! The ladies are very friendly and professional. Yvette did my hair, she gave me a hair cut and she did a fabulous job, I left that salon feeling super pretty! I haven't been this satisfied leaving a hair salon in a long time. I definitely will be back! My hair is still looking good! Love this place!
I LOVE Shear Designs II Hair Salon! I have always had a very positive experience. The salon environment is professionally run, comfortable, and clean. My stylist, Debria, is my miracle worker who makes magic happen to my thick and coily hair. After decades of relying on relaxers to tame my hair, I was VERY reluctant to give it up. Debria encouraged me through challenging transition process. She has the expertise, hair care products, and styling tools to maintain the health of my hair and give me the styles that I desire. Debria is attentive, caring, and committed to satisfying her clients. I highly recommend Debria and have referred many people to her... including my mother.
I normally see Paula, the owner, when I come in, but she’s on maternity leave. So I was serviced by another stylist, Pauline. I needed a braid down for under my wigs. Pauline is not a braider, but she was more than willing to accommodate my request. Her and the other ladies in the salon are always willing to stretch their skills to meet the needs of their clients. I would highly recommend Shear Designs but would love to see another braider added to the team or someone who specializes in wigs and/or weaves.
