I've been to Orlando's twice now - once for a pretty basic haircut with some long layers, and once for my first ever highlights. The first time I went was because they were the only ones that could accommodate a same day appointment, and I was pleasantly surprised with my haircut. I was a bit nervous because honestly the salon doesn't look like much on the outside, but Orlando listened to what I wanted, gave a few suggestions, and then went to work, and I absolutely loved the results. My hair looked great and he had listened to what I wanted but also incorporated his experience/skill with what looks good since I am not know for my stylishness 😆 The second time I went there, I didn't realize it was the same place I had been before, but again they were the only ones who could do an appointment on short notice. I'd never had any hair coloring done before so I didn't exactly know what I wanted but Vicky worked with me, I showed her a few pictures of what I thought I wanted and she made some suggestions, and she gave me the most gorgeous highlights. I love the way my hair looks, I can't stop looking at it and neither can my husband. I was really nervous to get the highlights since I didn't know it all what I needed to say or ask for, but Vicky made sure to check with me at every step to make sure I liked what she was planning. I am definitely going back to Orlando's for my future hair appointments!!
I love my haircut. Yensy listened to what I wanted and took her time to cut and and style my hair. She also shared some tips on how to keep my hair healthy. The salon was very nice and clean. Making a reservation was super easy and I received a confirmation and reminder. This is our go to salon for the whole family!
although the staff was very friendly this was the worst haircut i have ever gotten. orlando cut my hair and said he has been cutting for over 25 years. i wanted long layers and one side came out amazing, but the other side has a huge chunk of hair missing and doesn't blend one bit. it's awful and i have never hated something more in my life. for a regular trim i would have no problem coming here but if you want something more extensive such as layers, i think you should take your money somewhere else. this haircut i got looks like an outgrown mullet and similar to a early 2000s mom. not to mention i paid $60 to ball my eyes out when i got in the car and continue to cry every time i look in a mirror. when you get a good cut you should i feel confident and fresh. i don't want to leave the house for a year. i had to pay someone else to try to get it fixed and even now it looks terrible. i wish i could give 1/2 a star but i guess 1 will do for the friendless and clean environment of the salon.
I have been with this salon for years! I have lost count. They have relocated a couple of times and I've moved with them. My requests in terms of my style and hair care are listened to. Pricing is reasonable. I am African American, so yes they can do black hair care at this salon. (Trust me, that isn't true of all salons that do not cater specifically to a black hair clientele.) They are courteous and professional. I highly recommend.
I could give 0 star, I would in this case. On Saturday 1/4/20, I went to Orlando’s Hair Studio for a haircut. I got usual stylist, Yensi. I discussed a hair cut and a hair dye (silver highlights) for the future. She then told me I could come in on Sunday for the highlights. She put me on her schedule for 1:00pm on Sunday. She cut my hair halfway saying it would be easier to do highlights on Sunday if they were a bit long. She insisted to blow-dry my hair saying I could see the haircut better when that I had asked for just some gel. Not sure why - haircut was halfway. I thought she wasn’t going to charge me for the blow-dry since I had requested just for some gel but she did. She charged full price for a half haircut and blow-dry I did not request. When I came in on Sunday, she was fully engaged with another customer. I waited 25min and asked her if she was going to do my highlights. She said she needed to finish with the highlights of the other customer. Then why the heck make an appointment for me if she had another customer. No wonder there are very few customers going to Orlando’s nowadays. 👎
