Best donut place around. I go every week and they never fail. Best homemade donuts, kind staff, and quality experience every time. For my community we got custom donuts and they came out perfect.
Popped in here because a friend of mine recommended it to me, and they were … right. To be honest, we just got a few donut holes and not all were totally fresh, but they did taste good. There’s a front counter with a selection of donuts holes and other pastry things, and behind that, there’s a wall with more selection of regular sized donuts. We tried the chocolate ones, the original glazed and sugar coated, and each of the three tasted good. They just could have been a little fresher. With that said, the guys behind the counter were friendly and efficient and the eating area was clean. Next time I’m in Severna Park, I’d come back for sure.
Been coming here my whole life (30 years) and this is NOT the Donut Shack I know. We’ve moved out of the area and the first time I came in after the owner change was terrible. Obviously gave them a second chance and it was better! I was optimistic! Third time today and it’s a strike out. The female staff member wasn’t very welcoming, donuts not in stock, not a lot of variety at all, the place was empty and I’m still upset about it not being 24 hours. The old shack had rows and rows of donuts in full bins covering the entire shelves plus extra donuts on racks in the back that you could see from the front at. all. times. Donut holes don’t even look like how they used to. Everything is different and the donuts are way smaller. Quality has gone downhill. If you’re new to the Shack, you will like these donuts as they ARE tasty, but if you know the original, I would be shocked if you enjoyed them the same as the original owners. Is it just me or is anyone else trigged by the box design change?! I miss the people walking in and back out with their donuts!
We love that this is a local business and my kindergartener enjoys the quick trip up the street on the occasional Sunday. My husband and I have lived locally our entire lives and have been coming here for decades before as well. We have noticed a decline in the quality consistently in the last year. The cake donuts have gotten really dry and comparatively tiny. The prices just keep going up but we aren’t seeing any improvement to the actual product. Just unfortunate.
The doughnuts were good. Really enjoyed them. Raised seemed a bit stiff, or really close to being stale But they were still FAR better than another place that most people run on. Coffee offering was a new roaster to me. Enjoyed the breakfast blend though it was a bit chalky. Got some grounds out of the vacuum pump with service.
