The vibe and atmosphere was excellent especially with the live music, but the service could be better as the food took a little long to get to us. The food was full of hits and misses. Drinks we're on par and the brown stew chicken and curry goat were delicious! However the jerk chicken and rice and beans were really dry and disappointing. We also had the lobster mac appetizer which was pretty good as well. Overall it was an good place with great vibes and but just a 3.5 out of 5 for the food.
Love the food Ambiance and Service they’ve come a long way since the original location. Very impressed. My only negative is that the drinks don’t live up to the pricing or presentation very overpriced and not enough kick in them. Last time I went for a Silent Party I ordered a drink that came in a 4oz (not pictured below) glass for $18 not even a hint of a buzz. If the drinks get better this would probably be a regular hang out spot.
I've been scoping this place and following them on social media for over a year. Being coined "the rooftop queen" I saw that they had one so, it was a must that I visited soon. I planned a Sunday brunch for my girls and made reservations. Upon arrival, we couldn't help but to admire the beautiful, classy decor of the dining area. We glanced around & complimented those violet seats before proceeding upstairs to our rooftop on this warm 90 degree day in Chicago. My girls were excited to see this rooftop that I had lead them to blindly. Once upstairs, we began to sway our hips excitedly to the sound of a live dj playing some current hits. We scanned the area and said "Ok..this is cute!" [but small] and we proceeded to the couches with RUM PUNCH on our minds ...YEA MON!! We viewed the menus & excitedly began discussing the offerings and took turns announcing what we were ordering. The waiter came & greeted us very nicely & distributed cold ice water. Nothing like finding a cute backdrop that is Instagram worthy so still undecided, we stood up to head to the backdrop & a photographer 📸 approached our group and offered to take photos of us. We quickly took him up on the opportunity to pose and take pictures...because..WHY NOT? WE'RE CUTE!! We returned to our seats and placed our order. My chicken & waffles: Fried chicken was hot, crispy and cooked to perfection however waffles and all French toast flights ordered were served cold. The waiter was very accommodating and he did return with hot French toast. The menu described the French toast flights would be served with 3 compotes however only 2 were given. Not a big issue, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the large menu offerings, the dj kept us moving while we ate. The ox tail grits ate HEAVEN! Creamy textured grits, very tender, ox tails were flavorful and packed a DELICIOUS punch! The skillet was plentiful and good as well. The shrimp rolls are a great appetizer. We all wished we ordered more and we definitely would return for those Starburst shots!! That's the DRINK TO ORDER!!! Overall, we loved Good to Go and must return for dinner. We love that it is a nice laid back rooftop. Not much of a view, but it is very comfortable and a vibe when you want a break from crowded loud lunch/dinner spots but want to enjoy outdoor dining. THE SERVICE alone was awesome. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. I will definitely return.
My first time here and this place is really a vibe!! We opted for the rooftop. Our server was friendly and attentive. The drinks he made were GOOD…a little too good! 😂 I tried the Tropical Island and the Starburst. Now for the food (the number next to each item is rated out of 5). I had the salmon sliders (5), jerk chicken dinner (5. I had white meat and it was juicy!), yams (5), rice and peas (4), mac (3) and greens (3). Oh! and a slice of carmel cake (3). Yes, I ate a lot! 😂 Overall, I enjoyed this place and will return in the future to try other things on the menu.
I had been looking forward to checking this place out. We unexpectedly had dinner there but the service was inattentive & the food was dry, except the brown stew dish. In fairness it was a holiday so perhaps they were understaffed. Our waitress left the restaurant without even saying anything and before we were served & no one informed us. Strange. I love the rooftop vibe & hope to come back for some live entertainment.
