TLDR: Kevlyn Hayes & Event Shoppe Chicago were the best wedding investment we made. ----- I truly do not understand how someone can coordinate a wedding without a planner. If that is you, go figure. It is CERTAINLY not me. Originally, I thought I could do it. I had a general idea of the vendors I wanted to use for our wedding, and reached out accordingly. But about 6 months out—as I started to get into the thick of the details, vendor coordination and timelines—I realized I had unfortunately girlbossed too close to the sun. On a whim, I reached out to a high school friend who’d recently had a beautiful wedding to ask if he’d used a planner…to which he replied with a LONG paragraph singing the praises of Event Shoppe Chicago. This is how we started to work with Event Shoppe’s Lead Wedding Planner Kevlyn Hayes. When I tell you Kevlyn single-handedly lowered both myself and my husband’s blood-pressure, I’m not being dramatic. Kevlyn is detail-oriented, direct, honest, and—above all—incredibly kind. She kept us on track from our first conversation and answered every last question & anxiety we had. When we were sick of making decisions, she knew how to come in with opinions based on years of experience. When I say she handled everything…I mean literally EVERYTHING. Timelines. Vendor coordination of said timelines. Setup and takedown of our details. Last minute, inevitable emergencies (which she handled before we had the time to panic about them). I know that the reason we were able to relax and enjoy our wedding is entirely due to Kevlyn and the entire Event Shoppe team. Weddings are amazing, but they are a LOT. This was without a doubt the best investment we made and we'll be Event Shoppe hype-people for the rest of our lives.
My wife and I hired Event Shoppe Chicago to assist in coordinating our wedding and we were beyond impressed with Lekia our wedding coordinator. Firstly Lekia was incredibly responsive. When we needed information Lekia would email us back immediately. They assisted us with all big decisions and provided us with several options with vendors. We never felt pressured to pick a vendor they brought to our attention and genuinely felt they had our best interest every step of the way. We switched venues halfway through our wedding and Event Shoppe Chicago guided us through the entire process. Then day of there were 3 coordinators Lekia, Emily, and Victoria that made the entire process perfect. Many of our guest said our wedding was the best wedding they’ve ever been too. Somehow Lekia was able to ensure all of our needs were met perfectly and I couldn’t be more grateful. You would be crazy not to choose Event Shoppe Chicago and have Lekia as your coordinator.
Jennifer was magnificent. Right after we were engaged, my wife started interviewing wedding planners. At the same time, we saw that venue bookings for 2022 were filling up. We felt surprisingly rushed while over a year out. But then Jennifer entered our lives. She was willing to tour two venues (Dalcy and Morgan Manufacturing) with us on short notice with merely a handshake agreement. She was the right fit for us, and we began the yearlong journey to our wedding weekend. It was an amazing party. Jennifer smoothed out rough moments (i.e. my bow tie), and she made us feel excited all the way through the long process. She understood classy design but was willing to advise us on cuts to stay under budget. Jennifer was also super helpful with guests the day of. We could always point people toward her, and she knew what to do. In fact one of our attendees said to a friend, “I didn’t plan to ever get married. But I kinda want to just to work with your wedding planner.” Wry but true. Jennifer is great to work with. She made our wedding slick.
Jennifer Price is a one in a million wedding planner because she has the teaching spirit. She guided my husband and I through all options by explaining how best to achieve what we wanted. From explaining why a hotel would best suite our needs to advocating for a dance floor to maximize our “wedding real estate” I always felt that each decision brought us closer to our dream vision. The epitome of kindness, knowledge and patience, Jennifer has a way of making you feel safe in that she will execute your dream wedding. Actually, Jennifer made me feel like my dream wedding was HER dream wedding too. She cared just as much as me and husband did. Our day was absolutely perfect and I know it’s 100% because of Jennifer and Event Shoppe.
