This is not your typical restaurant! This feels more like dining at a wonderful Indian family's home, and just as welcoming. Upon entering for the first time, nothing is conventional... you essentially walk into the kitchen counter, chefs and staff busy making food right there.. We were greeted and made to feel at home right away! We were walked through the menu, and sampled various dishes to insure they had each one of our heat profiles down perfectly. Ordering was easy, and we took all the recommendations offered. We dined in, although you can tell many do takeout orders. The food was unbelievable! The flavor combinations and overall perfection of spice, flavor, and everything came together harmoniously! Soon the owner came out to make sure we were enjoying everything. Soon enough we had struck up a conversation and he asked my daughter to please, play the piano.. As she did, he sat and listened.. he is such a gift, and made her feel so wonderful. This, is what sets this family kitchen apart. We were guests, welcomed into this lovely family and enjoyed every second. Yes, the food MUST be had.. 100%. But to dine there, and feel the love and warmth of this family... is worth more than any cost of the food. From the host, guiding us through getting the perfect meal, to our lovely waitress, being so excited for our first taste... to the wonderful man who made my shy daughter feel so welcomed, she played in public.. I'm truly grateful for this place, and these amazingly charming people. Thank you! See you soon!
We wanted Indian food. There were 2 choices and thankfully, the other one was closed. We came in the last hour and while the menu was limited the owners worked with us to get us a wonderful meal with a personal touch. This isn’t designed to be a typical chain restaurant experience. Each order is custom made and much more like a home cooked meal. The owners were very engaging and very interested in the personal touch. Will absolutely go again when in the area!!
Overall the food was great! This was my first time trying onion pakkoda and parotta, both of which were delicious. The butter chicken was very good as well, just a little off in the balance of the amount of chicken vs sauce. Same with the raitha, the vegetables were pretty light. Not a deal breaker though, I'll try something different next time. It’s a family run operation, which is something I appreciate. Everyone behind the counter was very friendly
Fabulous first experience to Annie’s kitchen!! Enjoyed sampling the entrees from the chef and learning about Southern India regional dishes. So delicious!! It was wonderful to go to a new restaurant with all our alpha gal limitations and discover a whole world of foods that could be prepared for us or tweaked to our needs if we called ahead. Chef was very flexible on adjusting spiciness intensity as well. Will absolutely be back! The prices were a great value for portion sizes! You can eat in the quiet dining room if you prefer or take out.
This was a great first experience at Annie’s kitchen. Tonight they had a special where we got all that and a little desert for $17. It was nice that you got to taste a bunch of different flavors. My favorite by far had to the that bread. It’s like flaky and great to dip into the chicken curry to soak up all the flavors. I would definitely recommend and will be back in the future!
