Very popular and busy local establishment though it didn't quite meet our expectations. The food was acceptable though portions were a bit small considering the price. Onion petals were well prepared and fresh. The grilled chicken salad is offered with hot or cold grilled chicken, which is a nice option to have. The Veggie Wrap was a nice assortment of vegetables and crisp. The Avocado Burger was a little disappointing as it appeared to be a relatively mediocre patty on a typical grocery bun with maybe 1/2 an avocado sliced on top. For what was received, it just seemed a bit of a premium price. Servers were pretty busy but still seemed a little less attentive to us than we would have expected. Drinks were kept filled, but there was a pretty significant wait between drinks & order, order & service. Just kind of dragged out the whole meal.
This is my first time back here is 15 years and I will definitely make sure it isn't that ling again. This place is wonderful! Comfort food that will take you back to your childhood. Lloyd's fried chicken is second to none... Save some space for desert too...they're ridiculous.
Definitely a great stop for breakfast. Nice Friendly town. Food was great and the Chicken Fried Steak was perfect!!! No complaints, but I would recommend they invest in getting their iconic neon sign painted. Not updated, just returned to its historic glory.
I haven’t been to Southern Kitchen since I was very little under 5 years of age. I am now 19. Coming back here was amazing experience, I enjoyed the Chicken, and the two sides I ordered. Price was very reasonable. If you are looking for a place to eat they have the best Chicken in the Shenandoah Valley. 10/10 recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is a great little place. The food was fantastic. Definitely lots to eat for the money. Liza was our server and she was great! She never missed a beat even with it being busy. It’s a great old style diner which was definitely homie.
