I am grateful that they took me without an appointment. The stylists were busy doing some amazing styles. They clearly are talented and I was impressed and recommend them based on what I saw BUT the shampoos was mediocre at best. The young lady that washed my hair was very gentle and didn't give me the scrubbing I came in for. She asked a couple of times if my head felt better the first time I said no and told her she could be more aggressive with the wash. She improved a tiny bit but only for a second then she went back to using feather fingers. I got frustrated so I let it go because they took me without an appointment and at least I was getting something. She didn't rinse the middle and back if my hair properly and I will have to go home and rinse out the remaining shampoo and conditioner. I know it's there because my hands are sticky and wit the residue. They put me under the dryer which I didn't expect because I literally just wanted a good wash but I wish they didn't because my hair never fully dried. I would like to visit again and give it another shot because the stylists were doing the thang for real but the shampoo was disappointing and I want to feel like my hair is really clean before I get it styled. Even so, I would say if you have natural hair, give them a chance.
Ta'Nisha is very gentle and took her time styling my hair. She did invisible locs on me my second appointment, and I can't wait to get them re-done 😊. Very satisfied.
Although this is a "natural" hair care salon, they're not well versed with all natural, no locs, no relaxer thick hair. The young lady did advise she was I school and learning. No one likes to hear a "new" stylist is working in their hair, but I was "her" growing up learning to do hair myself. I always come with shampoo/conditioners/comb and brush. The shampoo was okay and very light touch. I asked for 3rd shampoo and to be placed under the dryer. She asked if I wanted my conditioner combed through? Is that a questions? She tried and placed 2 caps on my gigantic bush. I went to the bathroom and there is where I combed my hair properly and saturated my conditioner in and put my hair in 4 large twist. This enabled the cap to properly fit. Once rinsed, my hair was immediately blown out without pre-drying. The blow-dry didn't do much and left me with a deep wave pattern. She began to braid very light and unsure. I wanted to leave, but didn't want to discourage the young lady. This was not her fault at all. I requested a braid down for my wigs units. She did her best, but NONE of my units fit as they should. Salons are nothing like they use to be and I'm discouraged. A simple cleaning and braid down also shouldn't take 2 and 1/2 hours. Then the price confusion made me feel even worse. On a positive note, the locs I saw looked very neat and professional. Oh, and clean your hand mirrors!
This is my second time coming here and the service is amazing. Nisha has done my hair both times and I leave out feeling absolutely amazing. I get a good wash she does not try to retwist my hair dry and I love the styles we pick. Thank you and I will be back. It’s nothing like having an amazing hair stylist
The salon was very clean and well organized. You could also view the chairs being wiped down, ensuring that sense of safety within the department. I was very pleased with Tiesha’s job, her ability to manage such coarse, not to mention short hair was simply phenomenal. It only took about an hour, but it felt like less and I definitely recommend her and will be coming back again.
