I travel over an hour to have Sharla do my makeup. She recently starting doing my daughters makeup too. Vanity and Glamour is top notch. It’s an adorable little shop filled with just about any makeup product you can think of. The make up artists are exceptional and they make you feel so comfortable as soon as you walk through the doors. I highly recommend Vanity and Glamour and especially Sharla!
I have been a client of V&G for many years. My experiences with them started as a simple makeup tutorial when I was first trying to figure out how to apply eyeliner, and progressed to full makeup applications for my own wedding and those of friends. They’ve done “costume” make up for me on more halloweens than I can count and to this day, even now living 1000+ of miles outside of Des Moines, they are the only place I get makeup from. They take great care of me every call or text and even ship me products regularly!
As a makeup artist I was hard pressed to find products that I was confident using on my guests (mostly brides and bridal parties) if it wasn’t V&G. The quality of the products is second to none. One of the things I most appreciate about the products is that there is something for every skin tone and texture; the company is very intentional. The cherry on top is that it’s locally owned. The customer service is unparalleled. There’s something special about this place and the people in it. It’s like an instant serotonin rush walking through the door. I am a Central Iowa native but have lived out of state for a couple years now. I love the option to ship so that I can still keep some of my favorites on hand and try new items they roll out. If you’re looking for MUA for a special event- Vanity & Glamour is your place. If you’re a MUA looking for high quality products- Vanity & Glamour is your place.
Such a cool locally owned makeup shop! Have tried colorful eyeliners and shimmery liquid eyeshadow / highlighter from here. Dana is a lovely makeup artist :)
I have been going to Vanity & Glamour for years whenever I have an event that I need my makeup done! Dana has done my makeup every time, and she always does a fabulous job! Very patient, calm, and easy going! I always recommend V&G to anyone in the DSM area needing their makeup done. They have great products and I always get lots of compliments when I use their lipsticks!
