This was the best meal by far of our trip in Maine! The food was amazing and innovative. I was not surprised by some flavors that I’ve never discovered before. The service and the ambiance was great. We picked 5 tapas for two of us and everything was delicious. With a toddler, we were accommodated to the corner seat which was perfect. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and diversity of tapas style food, lots of variety and options for every palate. Started with tasty cacahuetes (roasted peanuts) with cocktails and wine; there were a few happy hour options ($10 margarita or glass of red or white wine) when we were there. Having four in our party allowed us to try a lot on the menus. Standouts included the lamb (tartare) and clams, arroz with peeky toe crab, and hamachi collar. Also enjoyed the burrata, dayboat scallops (gorgeous presentation) hiramasa ceviche, norumbega oysters, and shrimp tacos.
Woah disappointment… when the best thing on the menu was the bread? Red flag… would not recommend in good faith. Couldn’t hear the person I went with, they forgot our shrimp tacos, complete with the head & tail! The avocado taco?? was inedible. The oysters? Heart burn snow cones
Highly recommended by my date, thus it was settled. The plates are smaller and mostly designed for sharing it seems, tapas style. Yes, it's a bit pricey for what you get but it'll either be worth it or not worth it. First off we started with oysters. They have a lot of accouterment which added a nice sort of spiciness, perhaps counteracted by the ice shavings also put on. I think the ice was a bit too much, but the flavors were there. The Waygu razor clam tartare was absolutely to die for. It comes with really thin cracker-type stuff, falling apart in my hands like the papyrus scrolls. The combination of the raw fish, the meat, the spices... it was heavenly and worth the high price. I could have just eaten a bowl of it and been happy. I was excited about the duck hearts. I liked the sauce and the rich irony flavor, but I thought they were slightly tough and rubbery. The date agreed but said the last time she tried them they were tender, so could have been an off day or an off duck. Still, this is the place I would come back to on the strength of the tartare. Lots of the dishes looked wonderful and if you can spend a few bucks, then I would certainly recommend this place at least once.
It is safe to say, this is by far, the best meal I have had in an extremely long time! Between the service, the atmosphere and the food it is 5/5 in every catagory. The best parts of this restaurant were the delicious combination of flavors in foods I had never had before, like the duck heart and sea urchin! Additionally, being able to see the chefs prepare this food live, in the back of the restaurant was awesome. If you want to try new foods and have it guaranteed that it will be amazing, look no further!
