Overall great experience! Location, parking and awesome customer service. Mrs. Jevata Bagby is a master colorist and stylist! She's definitely into hair care for her clients!

I understand my experience may not be the same as the majority but I can honestly say I will never be returning to this salon for ANY service. I will try not to make this review too long and be as straight to the point as possible so here we go... I tried to call Jevata to schedule a consultation and I was immediately referred to her website to schedule it, which isn't a problem but this site is not user friendly whatsoever but I was able to schedule a consultation for October 19. I live in Fredericksburg and drove to Richmond for a 10 minute consultation for balayage color and a haircut. After my consultation, while I was in the shop with Jevata, I was again directed to her website to schedule the services instead of scheduling it while I was standing in front of her. Before leaving her shop after the consultation, I was advised to book my balayage and haircut as 2 separate service to ensure she had enough time. As soon as I walked back to my car, without even leaving the parking space, I tried to schedule the 2 separate services just as I was told and the website would not allow me to schedule them separately. On the site, though multiple time slots were available - when I booked 1 service (my haircut) the site advised the entire day was booked and that the other time slots were no longer available. I would 'cancel' my appoint and all of a sudden all the of time slots appear again. I went to reschedule my haircut and in the comments section, basically said "Hi I just had my consultation with your for the balayage AND haircut, your website isn't allowing me to schedule them both like you said. Is this day (October 23 - the day I was making the appointment for) available for both services. If it isn't let me know and I will look to schedule on another day". I submitted my request and within the hour it was accepted. Now fast forward to October 23 (my birthday might I add) I drive from Fredericksburg to Richmond for this hair appointment and she starts by preparing to wash my hair. When I asked about the color she told me I didn't schedule color, just a haircut, but she assumed that I wanted it washed and styled also. She even told me she remembered my consultation and was surprised I only booked a haircut and not the balayage also. I mentioned to her the comment I left when scheduling the appointment and honest to God she basically told me it was a waste of her time to read those comments because it "takes away from the time she has with her clients" and because she wants to "respect people's time" so she doesn't read them. I told her to not even worry about washing/styling my hair because my hair was already washed and blow-dried when I arrived. She just cut my hair and I left. She did literally NOTHING to my but cut it, I wasn't at her shop longer than 30-40 min and she charged me $45 TO JUST CUT MY HAIR - NOTHING ELSE! I drove back home and pressed my own hair because I was so irritated by the way she handled the entire situation. The haircut is not awful, but there's nothing spectacular about it. It's just a regular haircut that I honestly could've gotten anywhere else for way less money. For her to be a business woman - this was a poor way to run your business/treat new clientele. I spent more time driving to & from her salon than I actually did getting any services. I would not recommend this salon to anybody. This entire ordeal was a waste of my time and it all could've been avoided if she just scheduled the service while I was in the shop, OR simply read the comment I left when I requested the service. Even if she remembered my consultation why would she assume I wanted my hair washed & styled if I just scheduled just a haircut, and not "assume" I would want my hair colored which is the whole reason I scheduled the consultation anyway. This woman will not get anymore of my time, money or energy. So if you still decide to schedule any services here after this - good luck to you. I hope the site works better for you than it did for me, or at least her common sense kicks when she's approving appointments.
