If I could give a lower score, I would. Nasty, nasty experience. Long story short, they sent me an email the day before my appointment advising of their COVID protocols. "You must wear s mask, you must wash your hands when you enter, you cannot bring in your handbag!!!, you cannot bring child, or guest with you. No food, but you can bring a drink". I thought this was extreme, but due to the lateness that I received the email, I could not get another appointment this weekend. Besides, I did not wash my hands on my first visit and there was no issue. In any case, I had decided this would be my last visit. I refused to wash my hands upon arrival this time as well. I wore the mask, but brought in my purse. I wasn't leaving it in my car. I should have been refused service right then and there, but no, she washes my hair, but sneaks and calls her boss while the conditioner sits and tells her I was creating some type of disturbance and she did not want to finish my hair. Boss comes in furious because she had to come in and handle this that I refused to follow protocols and giving her stylist grief, which I did not. We discussed the issue from both perspectives and we both said we understood it from the other viewpoint. My position is if I did not follow protocols, I should have been refused service up front. It was her staff that did not follow protocol. You don't purposefully wet someone's hair and then say I'm done! You must go!!! They offered me to use their dryer, but the environment was so hostile and toxic at this point, of course I refused. This was unconscionable, vindictive and beyond unprofessional, especially in view of the fact that I thought our conversation was civil. The stylist, at some point, suggested that I might do better finding another salon for future appointments if I was bothered by their rules and I agreed that this salon was probably not a good fit. That happens. No big deal. We both move on. This treatment was totally uncalled for.
I was in need of getting my hair done. Dreads to be exact. I was ready to start my journey. But to do that I needed someone who could help with that. So I inquired and Jayla was ready to take that trip with me. Keep in mind I’m very specific about who does my hair. Ms Anita and everyone who works there is fantastic and they will and can get you to where you need to be. Please give them a look if you’re looking to improve, maintain or begin your journey.
My situation was crazy I was basically told that there is a stylist that worked at this salon. The lady asked me to send a deposit for hair. I did the day of my appointment I asked the owner if the lady worked there it was a scammer! So I tell the owner I was scammed the owner made an exception and got me and stylist to do the style I wanted. They were booked even stayed extra late I cried! She did not have to do that! So greatful! Definitely recommend this salon but go directly to the site or call don’t book any other way!
I am very disappointed and feel sorry for this salon for absolutely "taking customers money ". I was charged $250.00 for crochet braids that took about an hour and 30 minutes to do. I felt I was being overcharged but went ahead and booked the appointment thinking it would include a healthy treatment. My hair was not even shampooed, or conditioned, but claiming to be promoting healthy hair care. I was told because of the cost of the crochet spring twist hair, that's the reason why the hairstyle is ,$250.00. I had already priced the hair which cost about $7.50 for 2 bundles of hair. It only took 2-3 bundles. All I have to say is, this business lost a customer who will never go back nor refer anyone.
My experience with B.A.D Braids and Dread was wonderful I have always wanted Micro Locks. Jay La took her time made me feel welcome took her time, she had explained everything to me through out the process. On what to expect throughout my journey growing my locks. When I left the shop I felt like a new person. When Anita came into the shop her energy was on point with her customers. A client for life ❤️❤️❤️👍👍
